He's always been a brilliant guy. Look what he did with Stanford and it seems to be translating to the pros. Which unless your name is Jimmie Johnson, doesn't happen all that very often. Good luck the rest of the way.

My fear is they win sloppy. And against a well honed team like a GB, NE, which we haven't seen yet (and will) I fear Alex Smiths flaws will come to light.

Truth is the niners have gotten by on defense, and David Akers great field goals kicking from distance. Our quarterback is subpar, but improving. Jim Harbaugh being a QB himself seems to be the first coach in 7 years to get through to him.

It is like the Detroit Lions, a tragic cinderella story, and fairy tales always make you smile even if they are fake (i.e you lose in the end)

GB will win it all. Rodgers is too good. That's the scientific reality based guy speaking. But we can hope for miracles:D

I was never a big fan of his throwing motion, this year it looks even worse. That last pic was way under-thrown.

Dallas and Green Bay bear this cross too. Back in the 80s everyone hated the 49ers. You can also make the same case with the New York Yankees and the old Jordan era bulls teams.

It's jealousy.:)

Soak it up and enjoy it. As a Yankee fan on the "right" side of a dynastic team I can say, deep down it feels good to see the rage.

Oh and get yourselves a defense. Not being a jerk, just saying. :salute: Bellichick has an aversion towards defense, and Tom Brady is not Jesus (almost, but not quite).

I had to listen to Giants fans crap all night at work. To top it off, they are playing my niners next week and all of a sudden think they will beat us because they won a fluke.

Funny how Giants fans forget they lost to a really bad Washington team because they got lucky against the Pats.

Screw the Giants. Send Tom Brady to San Fran, I'll give the Red Sox A-rod. Deal?:D

Know what happens to GB if Rodgers gets hurt? You have the vikings:haha:

Flynn is no Rodgers, but he has some game:

Started his first pro game in 2010 at New England (11-2) in Week 15, and his 100.2 passer rating in the contest was the highest by any NFL quarterback making his first career start against a team with a 10-2 record or better since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.

Plus he would get to pass to Jennings, Jermicheal-Finley, Jones, Nelson.....
Part of GB's strength is their depth, they showed it all last year with players off the bench. With a healthy team this year their biggest enemy is themselves and complacency.

I hope they do go through some adversity and soon, as to prepare them for another run at the Super Bowl.

Come out of the closet McBee, we know you want to:

49ers sink the Giants despite them stuffing the run and a Gore injury. Drafted rookie Kendall Hunter still gave it to them. The usage of both TE Delanie, and Vernon Davis. Braylon Edwards looked alive against his former team.

OK so the mark of a good offense in this league is Rodgers or Brady type numbers. Not capitalizing on chances.. I get it.

Can the 49ers defense get some respect at least?

What's that about Eli being elite?

Carlos Rogers thought different. So did Patrick Willis, Justin Smith thought so too, as he swatted that ball on 4th and 2.

Respect? Not yet? Ok just a little, thanks:)

Lad on NFL Radio ( Sirius\XM ) this morning was laying the blame on Fraser, is it justified?

I think betting the ship on Favray and company two years ago, but more importantly last year when Favray was banged up, is more at the core of the problem.

They need to stick with the young QB and build around him, and put up with the pain of this for the next few years. This vs. bringing in the old guy routine ( McNabb fail as well ). Yes Favray got them close, real close to the big show, but was anybody that surprised when he threw that pick against the Saints in the NFC Championship....

So what teams will you call "done"?

I mean decent teams who cannot stand up the rest of the season. In other words, teams that are done already, like most of the NFC west don't count. I mean good teams who will falter in the second half of the season.

My personal "done picks" is the New York Giants and Jets. Jets have always been overhyped by Rex's big mouth, the giants seem to be living off the fame of a "Manning Brother" who looks scared in the pocket, and dead if ever forced out of the pocket.

Also done, are the Eagles. Losing to Arizona? Seriously? Vick is a cancer. I'm glad he can run fast, the faster he runs out of Philly, the faster they can be sucessful again. I will even add Buffalo, overhyped garbage..

Your opinions?:)

Jeez I feel for the Colts this season. Manning really was carrying that team with his skills at QB. Winless for the year, and pretty much getting blown out every game they play. What do they have to do to catch a break?

Football, especially NFL football for grown ups, is a great way to spend your idle time on a seasonal change of the time of year anyway. You can always rake the leaves and get ready for winter on saturday.

Where else can you spend a couple of hours watching, judging, nudging, yelling, hoop hoop and hollering your way to a good time or a big let down if your team doesn't win.

How many of us feel good after a win by our favorite team home town or not?

How many feel bad and let down by those that didn't do their best that day? Who didn't contribute to a good or close game or at least one they could've won if not for a simple mistake here or there.

Seven games left in the regular season ...

Never give up till the fat lady sings

Fraser is suspect, imo, but whoever keeps picking these old, has-been QBs has gotta go. That's what I hate about the NFL mentality, the win "now" at all costs, no thought about tomorrow.:shifty:

The niners? Might be mistaken, sir.:)

They beat the birds by one point this year. The only loss they have was an overtime heartbreaker against the Cowgirls. A field goal, kinda like yesterday against the 'skins.
I clearly remember it because Vick threw for like 400 yards, and got stuffed in the red zone alot, It was also the game I started believing in something better than another 4 to 7 win season. Eagles were still intimidating at that point.

That mistake can be made easily. Especially if you look over at my location, and the fact I have smashed the Eagles (in good fun) in the past.:D

Football is strange. Alot of folks like non local teams.

It is strange though. I like the Yankees, Devils and Knicks (when they are playing) As a kid I was mesmerized by Joe Montana, John Taylor, Brent Jones, and the legendary Jerry Rice (Haley, Lott, Roger Craig). The local teams were just noise, but the red and gold was amazing!

I have yet to see a team like that. Aikman/ Smith/ Irvin era Cowboys comes close.

I know the pack will win, but I can only hope.

I want GB to lose so the niners can be number one in the power rankings.:D

The lions need it at this point. Detroit is struggling as it is. The Tigers got their act together, the Red Wings have always been decent, now it is the Lions turn. So step up? (I ignored the Pistons for a reason. Basketball is a joke these days)

Edit: Thanks, interception and pass interference call on a clean TD pass, as I am typing. Rodgers then throws and scores, so much for my hopes.

Even later edit, Lions now getting destroyed!

Rooting heavily for August's Pats to put down this high school football team that is the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles. There are some people in my area that still think the birds are making the playoffs. With the Eagles officially eliminated from contention, perhaps management will start to think about making the changes that are so sorely needed.

What is it with Midwest teams wanting Favre?

He is beyond done, let him make his Wrangler Jeans commercials in peace.

Is it a redneck thing my yankee mind cannot wrap around?

Or should I be rooting on the return of Steve Young to the 49ers?

(I kinda am, we would be undefeated)
As long as Aikman don't come back too, talk about a 49er killer in his day, sheesh!

I felt the the same about the 49ers past 7 years. I feel the same about the New York Knicks all my life. Their last title was (like you and your Cubs) before I was born.

I try not to complain, I am a lifelong Yankee fan, and being a Yankee fan, am not allowed to complain about lack of winning.

Go 49ers! Win or lose, it is a true dream season. Thanks for making me smile again!

The Eagles are way more talented than their record dictates.

In fairness to you, it was much more of a tossup back when we were discussing it, and it could have gone either way had the team responded. However, I will agree with you now in saying that with the talent that is on this team, the Eagles should be winning the NFC East, as it is one of the weakest divisions in the league. This, combined with the fact that the team's performance has degraded each year since the Superbowl appearance (which they should have won) shows me that it is time to blow the whole thing up and start new.

I want Bill Cowher.

(You think the 49ers would be 10-2 in Green Bays division?)

Cowher would be an awesome fit, he is a Pennsy guy. As well as a no nonsense, no excuses kinda coach.

Cowher at the helm of the Eagles would actually be intimidating.

So, your football team is in a tight game. Your cornerback has been getting burned all game and the opponents have scored 3 TDs to his side of the field through the air. However, your offense has kept up, taking a small lead into the last two minutes. On your own five yard line, said corner catches a ball tipped off of a lineman for a pick and the game is over, you win.

That cornerback won the game, right? No? Really???

So tell me why you actually think Tebow is any good.

It is gonna be a good Christmas for the Harbaugh brothers. Jim gave John his present last night by pasting the Steelers.

I think the Terrible towels went away in the second quarter.

Convincing defense. Forced 4 turnovers, and stuffed them on the field position game. The 49er punter even got into it, by booting nothing but near perfect punts.

Aldon Smith...Rookie of the year. 2 sacks, one of them forcing a fumble.

He was in Bens kitchen all night.

I had to pinch myself, I am loving this defense, 2 more games in the season, and they can possibly be the first team to never allow a rushing touchdown in a season.

No fake here, the real deal.

But the Seachickins proved the name.

TOMAHAWK CHOP! FUMBLE!
In field goal range, they were about to win!

I think you can call the 49er defense amongst the elite. I think they are the best IMHO. 36 takeaways, only allowing 13.5 points a game.

And to the haters on the yardage they allow. Read this please?:)

Tom Brady is a pretty quarterback. Rarely throws a wobbler. Can deliver Farve like bullets, and Montana like floaters.

He is going to be top 5 when all is said and done. And even non NE fans have to respect that.

Bellichek has always been about beefy offense. It is just that the AFC east is a defensive league. Plus after a while coaches figure out people tricks, why do you think Bill Bellicheks mentor Parcells faded away in mediocrity?

Tricksters only last so long. True coaches inspire and demand overachievment.:salute:

Owens was being himself, Emmet retaliates, Owens stuffs it up the fans backsides again. Fun ensues.

A few unsportmanlike conducts on Teague and the retaliating 49er who backed up Owens. But no excessive fines, or chastizement from the press. It fired the crowd up with boos, and celbration when Smith did it..

Saints are dead meat if they meet San Fran in Candlestick. Brees can't pass in a breeze. (pun intended) He is a dome quarterback, and will meet takeaways in candlestick.

I see GB as vulnerable. The defense is...Not that good. If Rodgers is stuffed, they have no recourse defensively.

It will be between San Fran and NO for NFC.
Green Bays trap game was not against the Chiefs, they were tired from the giants. The trap game will come in the playoffs.

Then we can put this Rodgers, Tebow fantasy football favorites to bed, and let real men play.

Oh you mean last season week 2 when they barely won by 3 points again a 6-10 team, when they (NO) were 11-5?

Great and honest reference, it is 2011 now and we are free of Singletary.
And I am not saying we are super bowl bound, but we are not the team of yester-years.

I just remember how awesome Brees was in San Diego...:DL

It's ok, I still have more respect for Brees than Alex Smith. But you have to respect the 49er defense.

Just beat the Lions pants off like I expect, so we can see the most explosive offense against the most smothering defense.:salute:

I don't know after last Sunday's game.

I am sorry if I came across as insulting to the city of NO, It was simply ball busting. My football fandom this season has been like expecting feces but finding a 2 ounce lump of gold in it.

In all realness the team (saints) is awesome. If anyone can keep up with Rodgers it is Brees, after all I am a realist. I fear facing them as a 49ers fan.

But at the beginning I feared we had a 6 win team again, but got a division winner with a second seed instead.
No matter the outcome, I know we will only get better from here.

I want to see our teams play, and if the 49ers lose to them (as NO will spank Detroit) I will give my Super Bowl endorsement to the Saints.

And yes GB is vulnerable, to a pass rush, and run smothering...Which is why I wouldn't mind seeing the red and gold play them.

A Saints Packers game would be a QB shootout with an over under of 85 points.:D

Good luck to all:salute:

Great game and what a finish! Although I would love to see the Steelers in my backyard I don't think they would get past the Patriots. The Steelers are beat up at the moment. Ben's ankle is trashed. Denver took them to task and won. I think the Denver will not beat the Patriots. Tebow has a gun for a arm and receivers who catch them no doubt but I give the Patriots the edge.

I can only hope the Texans are beat up. Our team is a good team. Our quarterback is always questionable.

Niners only hope is that Aldon Smith, and Patrick Willis are in Brees face before he gets to look downfield. They can't afford a "shootout" with Brees.

Still in shock...

Or is that a hangover...I sat quiet most the game in my house, amongst the enemy.

Even as the niners go up 17-0. I stayed quiet, My pals telling me how great Brees is, and how the niners are as legitimate as the Broncos. I grinned and sipped my beer.

Then lightning strikes with 9 seconds to go. Vernon Davis on the 30th anniversary of "the catch", catches the winning TD score, and runs over Roman Harper (who had been giving us trouble all game) in the process.

When did Alex Smith become a quarterback? I wanted rid of him 3 years ago, glad I am not the GM. He is not the same man. Check under the helmet next time he's on the field, I think they slipped Montana in there as a ringer.

So when the catch was made, and the the clock reached zero, I looked at my stupid cousin who is from Alabama and a lifelong Saints fan and said:

Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?

Then pointed at the TV showing a mass of celebrating red jerseys.

Then in typical fashion he starts blaming the refs, and making excuses. I just pointed at the TV again and giggled sarcastically.

I withstood a season of abuse from him...He deserved it.:D

All jokes aside, what an awesome game. Without the forced turnovers it would have been a Saints blowout.

Edit: Can we put Tebowmania to bed now? All fluff, and no substance against a real team, with a great coach who had a week to prepare for him.

Being smack dab in the middle of Giants country, I can say every Giants fan fears playing the Eagles. They are never outright bad (as in St louis)

My opinion of the Eagles problem is a lack of team chemistry, you can't just slap together all stars and expect perfection, Yankees have been doing that for years, and while successful, and profitable, they haven't won as much as fans expect.

Too much "me" is poisonous on any sports team. Just ask the Jets about Santanio Holmes, who benched himself because he was being double-teamed and his reception streak was in danger of being snapped. He then promptly smashed Sanchez.

No reciever should ever down his own QB, it is why no one wanted TO when he tried out this year.

I am thinking the coaching is getting stale and predictable by other teams at this point as well. Is there another Harbaugh brother available?:D

But it is the downs that make you appreciate the ups so much.

I love the Yankees, and watched them in the 80s (man they sucked, poor Don Mattingly)...Then they started winning, it felt great as a fan. Then they kept winning, then became the overhyped mess they are now. The last time they won, I was not as happy because I "expected" it.

They picked a perfect time to choke

Having won last year makes this year a little easier to deal with, though not that much easier  It's not easy to win one in this league, let alone back to back. Also the Giants played well, they will be tough to beat going forward. I pick them to beat the 49s next weekend. They are solid defensively and have a better offense.

Ravens and Pats will be a good match up. Key for the Ravens will be to get to Brady, if they don't it could be a long day. He has to many weapons at his disposal and their Tight Ends are monsters. Flacco needs to be much better for the Ravens, even against the Pats Defense, who seemed to finally wake-up against the Broncos.

Anyway, we'll be back next year. Good luck to the remaining teams

Personally, I don't see the Ravens getting past the Pats. The Pats offense is stellar. Their defense not so much. But, our offense is not super bowl caliber. Mediocre defense can beat the Ravens offense. The Ravens defense is stellar...up to a point. If we do not get at the QB in the first 3 seconds and the pass play is on our coverage is awful. Yesterday, all the interceptions was courtesy of a young QB. We capitalized on the mistakes made. The entire game was defensive football for both. The Texans are number 2 in defensive ranks. We witnessed that with 5 Joe Flacco sacks. It was fortunate for us that Flacco did not follow suit with the long ball waiting to be picked off. The stadium has a collective gasp when Joe cocks his arm. Truth be told, Flacco telegraphs what he is going to do and the pump fake is non-existent. Furthermore, Cam Cameron play calling sucks.

For the Ravens to beat the Pats the following needs to occur:

1. Frustrate Brady. Let him NOT get a penalty call and he will fold. Tease him about his hair. Tell him his mom wears combat boots. Whatever it takes.
2. Use players that the Pats are not targeting. IE, Ray Rice has a big target on his back and rightfully so. They need to use Ricky Williams more. Boldin to run false patterns.
3. Work like a bandit on the blitz and pass coverage. Brady is like a frigging homing missile. We can not allow him to launch the ICBM.
4. Play small ball. Mount Rushmore was made taking one chunk at a time. Each yard should be taken 10 at a time by the running game. Eventually the Red Zone comes into sight.
5. Remember our roots....a bunch of guys out for blood on the football field.

Because he's a rookie and it's kind of to be expected. He picked a fine time to show his rookie-ness. :stare:

Jacoby Jones has been around long enough not to make the stupid mistake he did that ended up being the difference in the game. I hope they cut him and bring in a decent #2 WR this offseason. Bookend someone decent with Andre Johnson, move Kevin Walter to the slot, and I think we'll have a legit Super Bowl shot.

Interesting story (http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2012/1/5/2683729/joe-flacco-winningest-quarterback-of-all-time)

I first heard the above on NFL Sirius\XM Radio, yesterday I think. I found it hard to believe .... but there it is.

You may be onto something with Cameron, he has been there since 2008, maybe it is time for him to go. Though different,
( multiple Offensive Coordinators ) look at what having a different approach did to Alex Smith. Prior to this year he looked like a middle to lower of the pack QB.

I see alot of similarities between San Fran and Baltimore, elaboration ahead.

Patriots are more vulnerable than in years past, keep the faith. The Ravens defense is up there with the 49ers, and better than the Steelers, while Bradys line is not what it was in years past.
Ravens are one of 3 San Fran losses, and that is nothing to shake a stick at.

San Fran got 13 wins with only one "pretty" game, which was a 48-3 blowout of Tampa.

All the "pretty team, stat monsters" are pretty much gone. Right GB and NO?

Sure Flacco is not great (or the scond coming of Jesus, like Tebow), but he is adequate, (once again I draw the parallel to SF with Alex Smith. Defense, and takeaways wins championships.

Plus both are coached by a Harbaugh, which makes them awesome no matter what.:D
What a great superbowl story that would be. Like the civil war brother against brother! I am rooting for that outcome. 2 monster defenses facing off, neither team is the NFL's golden boy. I love the prospect of it.

Nothing to be ashamed of. I have a very newfound respect for Colston, and especially Sproles for his versatility. No team gave SF such a hard time this season, even in our losses, we didn't have to fight so hard. Since when are the 49ers actually favored to win?

Seriously. They were supposed to be a 7 win team at best.

I find that spread generous. Being a Jersey boy, I am in the middle of Giant country (man am I hearing it, such cocky bastards, now I know why people hate Yankee fans)

It is not that I lack faith in my team, but I cannot believe it until I see it. I am still getting over the disbelief of beating New Orleans.

Giving 7 points to Baltimore? Seriously?

I am dropping a bill on Baltimore. They will win outright.

DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Just like the baseball version
PITCHING WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.

My prediction (as well as my hope):

The Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers will face off in the Super Bowl.

A battle of epic defenses, and a brotherly brawl between John and Jim Harbaugh.

Would be an awesome story after hearing so much hype about high powered QBs like Brees and Rodgers, and Tebowmania.

Outside of New England, the only teams left are defense oriented.

Yes some bias as you well know.

But if they are the best teams at the end then they deserve it.

A Harbaugh vs Harbaugh matchup would not be boring for niner or Raven nations.

Or do you want another boring Patriot Packer SuperBowl, with Bellicheck being overhyped for 2 weeks, and Rodgers being made into Jesus without the cross?

Or 2 teams who were given no chance in hell, who overcame all odds?

I go for the latter

Not all of us find explosive offenses, and 40 points scored per team exciting.

Defense is a skill as well.

Sure, defense wins championships. However, defensive struggles tend to make for lousy viewing unless you have an interest in one of the teams. If San Fran had a Peyton-esque passing game and was putting up 40 points, you'd be extolling the virtues of high-scoring football.

I would not be able to with a straight face after seeing who went home last week.

I do see your point on viewership though. :salute:

Oh, sure you would. When did I become all about the 'West Coast' offense? When the Eagles started having some success in using it. Once you see your team doing well, you view whatever gameplan they use favorably. That's just natural. If Alex Smith comes back next season throwing 350 yards a game, you'll be all about that. I would be too if I was a San Fran fan.

It would apply in 99% of cases, even in me 7 years ago.

But I am a valid believer in defense, in sports and war. I even turtle in strategy wargames:D

Here's why.
I am a Yankee fan, and years ago it was cute scoring 14 runs a game and blowing folks out.

But teams began out pitching them, and despite the superstars and the budgets they lost.

I watched with my own eyes the Devils win the Stanley cup twice on the back of Martin Brodeur and his hall of fame worthy goaltending.

I grew up watching Jerry Rice, and Montana and Young.
I fell in love with the offense, of course I did!
But to Neglect Haley, Norton, and Lotts importance in those dynastic teams is shortchanging them.

Even today defense is underrated, all you are hearing about is Giants and Eli, and Patriots and Brady.

Late Edit: A qb is useless without his brothers in arms, on both sides of the ball.
Ravens and Niners have more than proved you do not need a Manning brother or Brees to win.

Seriously, Flacco and Alex Smith? Championship game. It is like a bad joke on the NFL marketers, who have been blowing smoke up certain high powered QBs backsides for the past few years.

10-7 super bowl? Looks like two equally matched teams. I thought that's what the process of elimination is supposed to do. Lopsided blow out are not much fun either. In fact, these are more boring IMO. No hope of winning or making a game of it. Denver Patriots game was just awful. Belichick in true form just keeps on drilling the opponent. Leaves in the first string players when it is not warranted. I hope the Ravens get the opportunity to drill the patriots to China. 33-10 blow out would do nicely. I would love to see the 49ers in there. Ravens and 49ers would be fun. Then again...I'm a bit biased.:D

Again, I get what both you and AVG are saying. However, two points:

(1) I never claimed that football was a star-oriented game, ie NBA basketball. OF course it is a team game. It is only that I find low-scoring affairs to be dull unless my team is involved in said affair. Frankly, I feel the same way about a no-hitter.

(2) Both of your teams still have 60 minutes of football to play before you are faced with the prospect of a Superbowl appearance. Cross the bridge when you get there.

AVG, in terms of putting the backups in, I am never in favor of this. So long as the other team is fielding players, it is your job to play all four quarters. I know why teams do it (namely saving key players from potential injuries), but it always tastes bad to me.

Yes sir!

60 minutes left indeed. Yes I am Nervous. Eli Manning is the real deal. Just as Tom Brady is.

I think what I have been nailing too much (annoying yes, sorry) is that SF and to a lesser extent Baltimore was not supposed to be here.

Yet they are.

I understand you are trying to be a voice of reality. But in all honesty, I never thought SF would beat New Orleans.
That just showed me that a team like Baltimore can beat a high powered new England. And the 49ers can down the so called "elite" Eli Manning. (we did before)

Maybe my logic is based on faith, but SF has shown me nothing but hard fought victory and heart.

SF and Baltimore are 2 not so good teams who got this far on heart, and dedication to the team and the coaches alone. That is why I root for them.

Logic tells me it should be a NE vs NY Superbowl. But Murphy and his law has been a factor in this years playoffs so far.

I understand it would be boring to you. But exciting to others.

Remember the Yankees vs Mets World series? I loved it!

The rest of the country thought it stunk though.

McDonalds is evaluating Cundiffs application as we speak. Damn proud of my Ravens who spent a week in the shadow of the Patriots and corrected the naysayers. Joe Flacco looked super bowl material to me. Our defense has never performed against the passing game like that. Brady was getting frustrated. We missed a key end zone catch before our kicker completely bungled a routine kick. See you next season.

People are beating up on Cundiff and rightfully so, but the Lee Evan's drop should not go unnoticed. He had the ball in his hands and go it stripped out.

He catches that and you guys win the game outright.

Like I said..a key end zone catch that was dropped could have sealed deal. I don't want to discuss the play after that were coverage was pulling on our receivers shirt holding him back then reaching around knocking the arm/ball down. No flag. At any rate, the kick was one completed thousands of times by Cundiff. He blew it in fine fashion. Do not expect to see Cundiff next season playing for the Ravens.

As for Joe Flacco, I have not seen with movement like that in a long time. Rolling to his left or right. I'm very impressed with his performance and I would like to see the sporting media say so because the media spent the better part of a week picking Flacco apart. Flacco owned the second quarter. Flacco missed less than a handful on his passing. Picked off once to Brady's three times. He was exhibiting Super Bowl QB type play.

Cam Cameron has lost any imagination on call playing for the offense. Let's face it, Ray Rice is the topic of discussion in the opposing team locker room. He is targeted and watched constantly. We ran into this last season for Boldin. He was double covered all the time. Now that we have a few more receiving threats on the field Boldin is left with single coverage. As a result he has a good season. Cameron should be using Ricky Lewis more often. We picked him up from Miami. He is a great player but not the go too guy like Rice. Since that is the case Cameron should be playing the other team with making the switcher-roo as much as possible. Ricky had a good game yesterday. We could see where the Ravens practiced against the Patriot passing game but not the running game. We can see were the Patriots practiced against the Ravens running game but not against the passing game. As a result, the Patriots drive on the ground was a success. Our drives with the passing games was a success. Overall, a good match up of theories and predicting what each team will do. However, there must be one going home for the season. It was the Ravens.

So down goes the niners.

I am not disappointed, they exceeded my expectations 10 weeks ago.
It was a tight game, and a few of the locals here in Giants country admitted to me that it was the hardest Eli has ever been beat up.

Great defensive effort, too bad Alex Smith could not get it done on his side.

To the Patriots and Giants, and their fans, congrats.

And to my beloved San Francisco 49ers....

Giants.

I take the Giants defense ( now that they are healthy ) over the Pats, especially their pass rush. And although I like the Pats offense ( Brady will redeem himself from his sub-par game last weekend ) , Manning has a lot of weapons as well and a healthy backfield. He will do just enough for the win.

Giants, baby. By a whisker.

I'm a life-long Giants fan (my father never really gave me a choice in the matter), who is married to a very serious Eagles fan. I managed to get to my eldest son in time, but I lost the girls to their Mom and her Iggles. Our youngest boy, however, figured out at a very early age that in a house divided against itself for at least two regular season games, the safest course was to pick a winner in a whole different conference. He chose the Patriots. Since then, the Giants and the Eagles have each met the Pats in the Super Bowl.
Poor kid.

Giants will win this.

They crushed the supposed number one offense (GB). Then beat the number one defense at it's own game, special teams and takeaways. (49ers.)

I see nothing on the New England defense even coming close to stuffing Eli. As much respect as I have for Brady, I have to go the other way.

My location has nothing and alot to do with my decision.

I dislike niether team, but hate the Red Sox! The only fans in the world who will chant "Yankees suck" in church.

GO NEW YORK!

(even if you did break my heart last week)

As for next year, it would be best to respect the Niners defense next time around...:yeah:

The death threats on #10 is disgusting... 49ers are a classy team, and I wish it's fans were not such scum...Then again if Ted Ginn jr, wasn't hurt, he would not have been responsible for 2 turnovers... Both of which gave the giants a short field and 10 points. (yeah, he was the same fella who ran towards the ball, and let it hit his knee, resulting in the tying touchdown)

Stuff happens...The better team won in my opinion.

Here in central New Jersey I get to hear so much about how the Giants are a dynasty.

The only reason they won was because a rookie kick returner fumbled 2 times.

Other than that, the giants were getting pounded by the niner defense. Eli in the second half was on his back like a hooker with a gold bar.

So you can crowd Ted Ginn Jr of the 49ers for Giants season Mvp, for getting a knee injury, and letting Williams start as kick returner.

It is what it is, no sour grapes. I like the Giants, but I HATE THIER ARROGANT FANS.

Go New England.

August, the resident Patriot fan, much luck! Put some NE voodoo on these arrogant punks. Just do not expect this kindness when baseball season starts. Bobby Valentine...:haha:

That was more a gaff on the Giants part than the Pats. Bradshaw stops short of the end-zone and the game is over at that point ( clock runs down that much more, etc. ). By letting him score the Pats get the ball back with a minute left in the game. So the play made sense, they were going to have to score a TD regardless.

I don't think it is over yet. This is a good draft class ( 2012 ) and the Pats have a ton of picks.....

Not sure, but if you have a chance you need to take it. Again they needed to score a TD regardless if the Giant kicked a FG or scored a TD.
Not trying would not make any sense......
