Edit: Seems (so far) that indeed I forgot to change starting locale; but yeah I don't have UBM so I dunno if it will work the same. Seems to. Is there a guide for what each missile/torpedo does?

Im starting to get back into SH xP and im not a big forum person, i lurk.
also, my russian fish never seem to want to alter corse, they do with the first few then it just shoots straight. also the American Homing torps get glitchy compared to other mods with them in. I dont even bother with the cruise missles, they dont work for me either xP

Lock on like normal, they are ICBMs so in theory, they shoot into subatmo, then back down, DO NOT BE WITHIN 3000 METERS, it will kill you. and quick. ive done it. alot. its supposed to be visible coming back down with a smoke trail but mine doesnt, and there is no visible blast. ships just start catching fire and blowing up gradually xP

Ah ok. Another thing. Is it still relevant if you have a green/yellow/red in the TDC? Funny though because the cruise missiles work fairly well for me

For the ICBMs, ive noticed it goes green when theyre a safe distance away, as for the Russian fish, again, ive had problems with torpedo angles

I still need some operational background
I cant refit / refill new torpedoes or dock in the career.
And shift + X isnt working at the sub for rising the antenna radar etc.
Is there still work in progress at the sub?
Would love to get the latest typhoon xD
anyway i highly appreciate all of your work. This mod made the game as i want it.

Little feedback
I commanded the Red October now in the career for the last 10 hours.
I observed that :
1) the game crashed 3 times
2) 5 times i sunk due to sudden damages
3) when you nuke a convoy at 60 m deep and go then to 80m you wont take damage anymore.
Great mod with great features. Would love to use it without complications xD

Hi there, just wanted to let you know something that happened. I don't know if it's because ,um, well Yeah I'm trying the mod in Career Mode :rotfl2: Buuuut....I went and did a patrol in Honshu aaand.....yeaaah...I should've taken an Screeny before it CTD'd and I may have possible nuked myselg buut----yeah there was like....I wanna say 25-50 Japanese DD's in a gigantic line astern gaggle. It was pretty insane. Not a complaint just an observation and wondering if it was the mod or just a random glitch
I had the exact same issue. After nuking a huge fleet in the same location I would take damage all of a sudden. So I restarted the campaign and without nuking anything, the game crashes when entering that harbor...the tokyo one.

Just reinstalled SH4 and found this mod. I've got SH4, patch 1.4, and 1.5 (U-Boat) installed (in that order), and without running SH4.exe in between. Then I run the JSGME.exe and activate MODS "Green Lamp" and "ParaB's fewer radio ..." and "Typhoon SSBN". I also tried with only "Typhoon SSBN" mod activated. Typhoon mod downloaded was from original post link.
No errors on JSGME run or when SH4 runs (to menu).
However, there's no Typhoon in the Sub list anywhere I can find.
So, in case anyone is still following this thread :), after doing all of the install, how do you actually use the Typhoon? I've seen a couple of other posts asking this, but no-one answers - just "got mod working!" or questions/posts about use after starting a mission/campaign. Need help before that - from the main SH4 menu would be helpful.
Of course, if no-one is following this thread, then ...

For those that can't fire their missiles:
You need to select a tube first (usually 7-14) by either going to periscope view or cycling with W, and open the tube with Q, wait for the tube to open, lock a target, and hit fire.
It's recommended you maintain some 6 or more km distance from your targets, as there's a chance of nuking yourself. If after you destroyed a ship, you suddenly start taking damage in all parts of your sub, or the game crashes, then most likely that's what happened - you nuked yourself.
I usually fire from a 9km range while having my keel (nose) pointed at the enemy. I've sank some 4 million tons of ships and nuked myself only once or twice due to being in less than 6km range of the targets. It's fun and it does work, just be careful with the range. Once you hit your target, do not approach the site of the "explosion", hit reverse or turn around.
Also, I've noticed that SLBM's work with tubes 1-6 as well, so I guess you can load them in any tube.

I guess the Sub is a bit unbalanced. i gave the order "dive to perescope" after my crew spotted a aircraft, ship sinks to 300 meters (i give order to blow balast + ahead flank) 400 meter (blow balast without speed maybe the ships nose is down so i just increase diving with speed) 450 meter (stopped by ground ) :I

most of the modern sub mods i have dont resupply the modern torps or missles on refit, you have to end patrol to resupply with anything but the steams.

I had the same thing happen to my playing with the Titan mod. It seems to just be a random glitch, i picked up some radar contacts, submerged, waited till they seemed close, rose the periscope and there was an endless line of DDs about 3 deep into the horizon, about 5 seconds later my game locked up and CTD'd.

Ok after trial and error, i got the mast to go up by telling my crew to raise radar ant. my problem with the missiles is that they always fire behind me? is it because i have to use hydro to sen tdc bearing everytime?

This is a fun Sub! BUT, the nukes can be a bit janky. If I open the doors for example like 7 and 8, wait for them to open and fire a nuke, is takes off into the sky like normal and then nothing happens. If I open all the doors and fire a nuke I kill everything in sight. Why is this? Also why does the nuke not come down and explode? Also the sound seeking torpedoes don't go in the direction you want them to. They only fire straight and if youre lucky they will home in on a target and kill the ship. Instead of coming out of the tube and going to wear they are supposed to go, where you aimed them in the first place. So any answers? ty

what i usually do is when i am starting the mission i open all tubes and missiles ports to be ready to fire so all i have ot do is pick the missile or torp and away she goes what i wish is for a mod of different skins for the sub to make the appearance look better

Raise the attack or obs periscope if submerged or if on the surface, to to the bridge and use the UZO to get bearings for the TDC.
The U-Boat add-on is NOT compatible with this mod, so, don't try to use the Red October in those missions, BTW.

I got a strange problem...
I got the SH4 1.5 and play the American Career.
I got my sub etc but when i fire a missile against an enemy ship it ALWAYS misses.
Distance from 4000m to 9000m i NEVER hit a target even if it's coming from 360 direct in front of me.
Any suggestions?
I dont have any other mods installed.

I made the same mistake that you did several times and found the solution.
It turns out that you MUST be submerged (preferably at least at periscope/snorkel depth) in order for the Missiles to launch properly.
Remember that the Missiles, at the end of the day, are just Torpedoes with a Missile Model raised high up and so, still uses Torpedo Physics in-game.
I made the same mistake that you did several times and found the solution.
It turns out that you MUST be submerged (preferably at least at periscope/snorkel depth) in order for the Missiles to launch properly.

Does the missile submerge after flying in the air? If it flies a few meters above sea level, that might be normal (if it's a cruise missile, not SLBM) Of course, I don't know what missile you're launching...
I'll re-enable this mod on JSGME later today and check it out :yep:
EDIT: Looked about a day ago, forgot to update :/ The mod loads fine, models are all correctly loaded, but whenever I attempt to fire a torpedo from any tube, I get something along the lines of "Cannot compute solution for tube [blank]. I don't really use this mod other then for occasional missions, so it doesn't affect me that much, but it would be nice if it worked when I do use it.

True that, but you're not supposed to be seen by airplanes... :03: - no air defense on those boats. Deep submergence and very low frequency transmissions. :salute:

I have been having a big problem with this typhoon :(
I fire the missiles but they hover mid air then dont shoot off. I do everything correct but nothing seems to have worked.

My advice - play better Dangerous Waters or alternatively Cold Waters.
SH4 is not even able to present and simulate relevant processes of modern warfare. :03:

I've tried all the obvious ones (Shift +X, R, I, T, etc.) including all combinations of every keystroke known to man that work for every other mod. Having a great time with your mod mate! Only problem I've had was having to maneuver to get a good firing solution with the "Aft Torpedoes" even though they're in the front but now that I've figured them out I get a solid hit every time. Even managed to sink 4 destroyers with 1 hit one time while they were depth charging my decoy. Great fun with this mod, I may need to get a character pack though because most of the letters in the equipped gear is just scribbles and random dots.

I am also debating releasing an Ultra Quiet, Super stealthly version for the evil ones out there! (more nuke reloads, sonar that can detect a DD at Ahead Flank @ 60 NM, more torp reloads, 50 RPM engines, making you virtually undetectible, and a bunch of other things.)
Red October on steriods if i do say so! :yep:
so stay tuned!
My missile does launch but it launches like 50 feet in the air and then the engine dies and it falls into the water, any thoughts on that?

First off, LOVE THIS MOD!!! I found a bug or potential bug, any time i try to get back to or near the Washington port it kills the game. first noticed when i try to focus on the Washington port via map to plot a course back. also it wont let me dock and end patrol at any other ports. its fine at others ports as far as refit and postpone. please help me.

Did you delete the Save folder after applying the mod? C:\Users \UserName \Documents \SH4 - You will have to re-set the screen resolution and all your gameplay settings, as well as you will lose any other career progress you have from other mods or stock... :salute:
