I am on my 7th patrol and i yet to see any airplanes.I am playing gwx3 and i am cruising the english channel for most of my carreer. In the beginning i raised the numbers in the airstrike.cfg file and expanded the flight radius from original value to 2500.Any thoughts?
1 thought (Be Grateful)
At the beginning of the war there were not many airplanes, so be thankful you do not need them as long as

I'd change it back to the GWX default setting for fear of having broke something....just me though http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

Yep, I'd change it back too. If your cruising around the English channel, and not seeing lots of planes and warships, something is terribly wrong. :yep:

thanks for the info.BTW do u guys have the original values for that?I did not back it up,sorry.
Maximum Aircraft Range=2000 ;[>0] in kilometers
Poor Airbase Modifier=0.2 ;[>0] Modifier for poor airbase (carrier) rating
Novice Airbase Modifier=0.6 ;[>0] Modifier for novice airbase (carrier) rating
Competent Airbase Modifier=1.4 ;[>0] Modifier for competent airbase (carrier) rating
Veteran Airbase Modifier=2.4 ;[>0] Modifier for veteran airbase (carrier) rating
Elite Airbase Modifier=3.0 ;[>0] Modifier for elite airbase (carrier) rating
Night Modifier=0.2 ;[>0] Modifier on strike probability at night
Default Air Strike Probability=35 ;[>0] Default probability to send an airstrike from a airbase (carrier)
Enemy Air Strike Probability Increase on Radio Messages Sent=25 ;[>0] Increase over the default probability on a radio message sent
Friendly Air Strike Probability Increase on Contact Report Sent=50 ;[>0] Increase over the default probability on a contact message sent
Enemy Air Strike Probability Increase on Player Detection=40 ;[>0] Increase over the default probability on player detection
Atenuation Factor=10 ;[>0] decrease from an increased probability to default one on each air session
Logic Steps Between Air Sessions=20 ;[>0] steps between air fighting sessions, 10*Logic Interval(90sec)
Neat and tidy, I can see :yep:

Are you travelling at very high time compression? Any more than 128x makes you miss a lot of air contacts.
GWX and no Planes...sounds like the beginning of a very sweet Dream for every Kaleun.
But usually, the average GWX Sailor has a solid share of the lying pest!:arrgh!:

1st thanks for the info HW3 and to answer steve, yes i am traveling at 562, because that way my crew will not be too fatigued.I loose alot of health if i time travel any less. That's true, i read somewhere if you go too fast you'll miss contacts. Is there a way too lower this time compress value and still keep a good health for my on duty crew?
If you use SH3 Commander you can try out several different fatigue settings including no fatigue.

In my experience fatigue has no effect on your crew at TC x64 and above. I should know because I have SH Commander set so that I can't go above x128 so that I don't miss any contacts.

During the long development and test periods of TGW and GWX it was discovered that the onset of fatigue ceased at anything above x32 so yes x64 is a good call.
