[REQ] Define what "realistic deck gun means" please. :D
What's not realistic about it? Or how did you want it to work? This request is kinda unfixably broad I'd say. :)

I have adjusted the files so the deck gun has a max long range of 1000 meters . But i would like longer reloading times LOL .

Erm... the real C35 88 mm/L45 deck gun had a range of 12,350m (http://www.uboataces.com/weapon-deck-gun.shtml) and usually were used at ranges of 4000m and closer with a reload time of 3-4 seconds.

Official test times, yes. Real-world combat reloading was a lot slower.

My idea of realism is diffrent to others . This looks good U-boat Historic Specifications 1.4

My reload time seems way to fast - maybe a second between shots. Maybe it they didn't blaze away so fast they could actually aim...

The real times were longer due to gunners operation. In the game they only target and shoot. In real life they need to remove the case, take the projectile from the storage near, charge the gun, and repeat the operation. Probably, i'm not sure, were need three sailors to perform the task. In fact I believe the timing problem in game are due to the animations which are too simple.

OK , so if someone could mod it so i had to shoot myself . I go to the gun scope view and fire . After i fire i have to exit gun view then walk or run to a spot near the climbing rails on the rear of the conning tower . Then i have to click on a reload icon then run back to the gun . Would this work ?

its a semiautomatic breech...dosen't it auto eject? there was also a "bucket brigade" system for loading

Really? :timeout::haha: This is turning more into the Masochistic Deck Gun mod rather than realistic. :O: Setting aside for the moment that the captain would never have single handedly loaded, aimed, fired and reloaded the deck gun, the main hurdle with this idea I can think of is can you register the location of the captain's avatar at a specific waypoint?
Since I haven't seen anyone successfully create an interactive world item (meaning something like switchable 3D objects, for example the torpedo door switches) you'd probably have to create a new waypoint near where you wanted the reloading to happen, then have some process to check if you're there or within a certain distance. If so, reload? Something like that I imagine. Maybe you could clone the hatch opening sequence and tie it to something on the deck?
To be honest it would be a lot easier to either set the reload to like 30 seconds or something or just run back to the conning tower and "pretend" :)
