download link http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1014&act=down
Hello :):DL:D
Tweaked, water streams and diesel exhausts.
Tweaks are for : NSS_Balao ,NSS_Gato, NSS_Porpoise, NSS_S18, NSS_S42, NSS_Salmon,
NSS_Sargo, NSS_Tambor and also for Car as it uses Tambor hull.
This is my first tweak pack and it was hard work but I also learned a lot.
Gredits to Racerboy and Rubini for pioneering work for water streams and diesel exhaust.
Skwas for S3D, The RFB team for nice mod. For my work No permission needed use as you like.:yep:
I have now updated to version Keldunks_RFB.1.52_tweaksV2, shoud work better with winrar.
original one works better with 7-zip no "double folders" problem I hope
Version 3 pic Gredits to ducimus for Narwhal and sub smoke

"Let me understand... This just adds engine exausts and new waves ??"
"does this work with RFB? "
Yes it works with RFB 1.52.:salute:
It tweaks "engine exausts" and "water streaming out of sub".:salute:
water stream time is less, also less water is streaming out, also streaming angles were adjusted to look more natural :DL
For diesel exhaust it adds some smoke, also coolant water is pumped out
of exhaust pipe in differet way, I used a water stream node :DL

Hello , I dont have the " RFB.1.52 " I have just the stock 1.5 SH4 plus some small mods , can you tell me please how to add the smoke to the subs ? , thank you very much
Well you can try my tweaks with stock 1.5 SH4. enable with jsgme.
hope it will work for you. I have not tried it but as it changes only
sub dat files it may work.:DL
"please how to add the smoke to the subs ?"
first you need to know how to use skwas S3D. then open tweaked files
and see how it was done. Most exhaust work was done by RFB team.
I only tweaked them a bit.:salute:

I have now tested my tweaks with stock sh4 1.5 and they work OK,:DL
so no need to install RFB if you do not want to do so.
Download my tweaks from the link from my signature and install with
JSGME. :salute: Or from here http://hosted.filefront.com/CapVonKeldunk
"do you think the only way to install you tweak for the water stream and the motor smoke is using S3D " Did you not ask "please how to add the smoke to the subs ?" Not how to install my tweaks. As my command of english is not
so good use with me only simple language please.

Hello , thank you for the help :DL, I downloaded and unzipped the " Keldunks_RFB.1.52_tweaks " this give me a file/folder named " Data " later I installed and enabled the " Data " file/folder into the JSGME utility , but was not possible to see any smoke coming from the subs like the smoke of the subs we saw in Silent Hunter 3 , do you think I have made a error/mistake installing the " Data " with JSGME ? , thank you for the help

Well iam sorry to say that the mod is not JSGME compatible. The author forgot to make the folder for the mod to put the data in :)
To make a jsgme file the path/folders should be like this:
Folder = Name_of_the_mod/Data/etc what ever the path is :)
So make a new folder whit any name you like and put the Data folder into that. And put that in the MODS folder and enable whit jsgme.
Btw to the author, is it possible for you to take a screenshoot of the modification?
Many people wud love to se a screenshoot of any mod before they download it and install it. :)

Hello :D
I use 7-zip and when I unzip " Keldunks_RFB.1.52_tweaks "
I get " Keldunks_RFB.1.52_tweaks " folder and in it the "Data" folder:DL
and readme. If you get only "Data" folder, :hmmm: then make a folder and name it " Keldunks_RFB.1.52_tweaks " and but "Data" folder there. and then enable " Keldunks_RFB.1.52_tweaks " with jsgme.:DL Hope this helps

:)
I also downloaded your file and when i unzippped it by using Winrar i just get the data folder and the readme file.
But there is different methods to unzip a file. If i just click the zipped file it opens up in a new window and from that i unzip. This method will only give me the Data folder. But this is the most standard method to use and this is also the way many modders use. :)
But if i right click the zip file and choose from the dropdown meny to unzip the file to Keldunks_RFB1.52_tweaks it will create the folder where the data will go :)
Many people dont know about this method :)

Here it is.:DL My exhaust is not like Racerboys in SH3, I tweaked RFB files.
Some motor smoke and coolant water pumped out of exhaust pipe.
I used water stream nodes for coolant water, in loop mode 3 sec, sometimes it takes time for coolant water pump to start .:woot::woot:

THX for your help again:DL
Wiith my 7-zip " just click the zipped file" method do not work, so I only use
"right click" method. I suppose if I had made my 7z file like I usually do
that is first made " Keldunks_RFB.1.52_tweaks " folder and then put Data + readme_ for_tweaks in it and zipped, it woud have worked like standard method for winrar . But then when I unzip that I get "double folders" problem. Looks like it is best to go back to my old method
and not to worry about "double folders". :woot:
Tweaks also change subs water streams life times 3sec, max Particle size 30 and flow angles. to look more natural .

It works great for me! I didn't pay any attention to the exhaust smoke, but the water streams are much better than stock!
One of the things I find interesting is that Rubini's Water Streams for SH3 actually look better than the SH4 ones, and that they only appear for a bit after the selected holes have actually dipped under the water, which means that in calm water you don't get them at all; whereas SH4's seem to be 'on' all the time. Yours are better in this respect - both in being lighter and more realistic, and they don't seem to have water running out of them every second.
I'd still like to see them look even more natural, but I think people have only begun to scratch the surface on this. In your case, though, it's a deep scratch. Good job!:sunny:

THX for downloading my tweaks. True there is a lot more to do with
water streams and exhausts also. I have some ideas for improvement for
next release.:DL but as I have to change dat files for every sub and every water stream node (there are about 40+ per sub) it takes time

thank you :salute: , download at once :03: :yeah:
I got a problem , if I install this mod last with JSGME after " Historical Prop Rotation " this mod will work but " Historical Prop Rotation " dont work anymore , if I install " Historical Prop Rotation " last after " RFB 1.52 tweaks, water streams and diesel exhaust " Historical Prop Rotation will work but this " RFB 1.52 tweaks, water streams and diesel exhaust " dont work anymore , therefore I must choose only one of them

Well it looks like both mods are using same files, lets hope that both will be in "supermods".It woud fix this problem.:yeah:
Very like your mod. Looks nice with RE mod :)
Is it final project or are you working on even more eye-candy version 4? :DL
Can anyone confirm if this mod will work with RFB 2.0. I'm useing it and it seems to work, although since RFB 2.0 my ship stack smoke renders as puffs instead of a steady flowing stream. Don't know if this is the cause.

Same problem here - anything new on this as yet? I love both these mods and don't want to part with either one...
