Yeah, here is just another one in need for some help to get the MkIId Update. The link in the original post seems dead as reported several times here. I have been trying to get it from Plissken's directory with no joy also.

Trying it with Firefox gives the following message after entering the username and password:
550 Can't change directory to /public/Sharing/SH3COMMUNITYMODS/ONELIFECRISIS/: No such file or directory

Trying it with IE it just says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

Any help would be appreciated

Is there any way to reduce the sensitivity for the scopes in this?

The only way i found to fix it is to use ACM, which I dont want to use because it removes the ujagd.


Also, does this mod make the ocean/sky darker? It seems a lot darker to me.


edit: confirmed it DOES make it darker. When you switch stations sometimes (for instance from inside the sub to the bridge), after a couple seconds you can see a dark filter or something apply to the screen.

I disabled the mod and it doesnt happen anymore.

Any way to disable this?

This and the fact that the scope sensitivity is wayyyyy to fast to be functional are the only things keeping me from using this awesome GUI!


edit: Ok so I convinced myself to get over the ujagd. Im willing to use ACM, which solves the sensitivity issue. Now the only problem is the dark filter!

Ok Update:


I replaced the data/env files for the OLC mod with the ones from stock SH3+GWX and I managed to make the brightness bearable again, just like in GWX.


My question is, will doing th is mess anything up? I know it will make the enemies detect you easier (back to the levels of stock GWX at least) due to how sensors in this game work. Im fine with that, as long as nothing breaks.





Now, unfortunetly it still seems to randomly get a couple shades darker with the "filter" effect. So theres obviously another troublemaking file in there somewhere but im not sure what applies that effect. Any ideas?

I'd suggest you calm down, try the newer link offered and move on.

All 3 Links are working with FireFox,Internet Explorer and Filezilla for me.

If you've tried to Login earlier,but got the Error Code 530 "IP Blocked",then you've to wait until the next Day to try again.

For all,who have problems with Web Browsers to login,i recommend to install a FTP Client,such like FileZilla (Freeware).

I will check the Problem with the first Link,so use the second one,that still works.

You can also do a search for FileZilla Client via Google,it's Freeware and the Problems should gone.

I know this reply comes too late but i'd like to say that OLC didn't alter any of the settings that control the sensitivity of the detection capabilities of ships in GWX. Instead, he adjusted the environmental parameters (and that also includes some tga files having been altered) in order to make surface attacks at night possible apart from improving the environment itself aesthetically. If you replace the .dat files of the mod with the ones from GWX or stock SH3 you will probably make the mod useless since GUI and environment are dependent! You will most likely break the "balance" and have some problems with particle effects, for example, or with the way ships are displayed in the horizon. You may find a more proper description of the mod, in the first post (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1038102&postcount=1) of this thread. By the way, if by "scope sensitivity" you mean how fast or slow the periscope rotates, try using CTRL key. Just hold it down and rotate the peri. Cheers! :ping:

SO mines tdc dials ares stuck i cant move When i use the weapon officer trick to turn on auto update it doesint track my periscope so its not imposibal to do torpedo attacks. Maybe some mods mess up Olc I dont know how to fix it please help

As I said before that link does not work man, don't know what to tell you if it works for you but its not for me requires a username and password both of which are not in your signature because you have no signature.....don't really see the point of having the download outside of the subsim repository.

Check the security settings on your router/firewall. I had to lower mine to a lower security setting to access the ftp site.

I guess yes, because the whole procedure relates to a certain magnification, and probably does not work with another. I remember this was the case with the orgilnal OLC GUI back then.

Yes it is. Magnification over 1x made the 3d waves dissapear and the horizon blurr. OLC did not want that, and thus fixed the zoom at 1x and instead worked with the field of view to set the appearence of the image as if zoomed at the required power. IIRC he had to go for a compromise, with the obserbation scope having bigger zoom than the attack. First one allows locating and identifying target at long range, then when close enough you start using the attack one.

i think living silent hunter 2015 has an olc 1920x1080 add-on module. May or may not works with other mods, too, I rly don't know..
I still use olc + acm with gwx but never felt that I needed 1920x1080 cause it only makes things smaller than it alrdy is, haha :k_confused:

Hi everyone! Been quite a while, but I'm getting back into playing SH3 with GWX and OLC.

One question, is there a mod or setting to re-enable the "red light" versions of the map, periscope, etc., rather than just showing the moon indicator on the map? Or was this done for historical accuracy reasons? Thanks!
