here is a series of questions for you modders in the know.

1. Is it possible to classify an aircraft as an "environmental object"?

2. if Yes... Is it possible to create a model for an aircraft classified as an environmental object wherein the model represents a small point of white light with a small tail? (perhaps like a running light seen on some ships in GWX)

3. If Yes... is it possible to provide this small, white light a random spawning point and waypoints to make it jet across the sky at very high velocity? perhaps 500 knots or more? (i dont know what the fastest speed can be)

if the answer to these three questions is "yes" then you can surely see where im going with this.

random spawn points for small comet like environmental "aircraft" which will streak in straight line trajectories at high speed across the sky so that they may resemble shooting stars.

Hi GoldenRivet
I thought of a similar idea like that, V1's & V2's.

so.

is it possible and is there a modder out there who can make this small environmental mod work?

Think about the contribution such a mod would make to environmental immersion.

You are setting up for an attack on a large merchant in the middle of the night with a thousand stars above.

all of the sudden for a brief moment you see a shooting star arc overhead as a sign of good luck.

i think it would be a cool mod

If you take the V-1 in GWX 2.X
Remove most of the 3D objects and adjust the
particals stuff?

You have a Shooting Star.

Now I know you know how I know, right?

The V1 is already in GWX.
It's a really sad story how it ended up being there.
But it is there.
