Guys what is the best Mod configuration for realism, immersion and eyecandy?
we all know we get crazy from all those good Mods and i dont know anymore what to pick. i need a very good Mod configuration to have no conflicts (mods overwriting eachother):o:o:o

That in its self is an art. From my point of view I would start with the following;

1. GWX 2.1
2. SHIII Cmdr 3.1
3. Liferafts & debris
4. OLC

Then tap dance with the rest

It is really a process of trial and error and just plain old learning as you go along. We all have to go through it here, with time and experience,
I'm sure you will get onto it :yep::up:

i am using olc gui and olce, because i dont like the 15 km atmosphere. i think, the stock 8 km are more realistic. i recommended the interieur diving angels and the stay alert crew for realistic sighting ranges. i am not interested in eye candy mods, so i dont use them (exception: open hatch with realistic obs scope and interieur diving angels)

OLC GUI AND OLCE are pure eyecandymods hehehe it is the best mod i have ever seen. any experiences with sh4 effects for sh3 from Racerboy? it overwrites OLC mod and that is:damn::damn::damn::damn::damn: any others with good configurations with their mods?

GWX 2.1
GWX 2.1 Minor fix's 26th April
GWX - 16km Atmosphere
GWX - Captain America's Officer Icons
GWX - Integrated Orders
GWX - No Medals on Crew
GWX - Open Hatch Mod
interior diving angles (openhatch)
LifeBoats&Debris_v3B
LRT v2.02 Final or LRT 2.0 Lite
Sobers 3D waves
Sub Image mod
Ailantd HiRes Moon mod instead of totally unrealistic moon from GWX 2.1

I used OLC Ubermod 2.4, but prefer stock GWX water colour and reflections.

hey friend can you give more info about sobers 3dwaves your moonmod and your subimagemod? i use U338skinmod at the moment for my VIIB you made me curious about your mods:sunny:

jaxa

No problem mate
1. Sobers 3D waves adds a colour to the whitecaps.
2. Sub Image mod replaces sub images for menu & crew management screens with hi-res, more up-to-date ones that better represent the quality of skins now available.
3. Ailantd Hi Res Moon mod or Hi Res Small Moon mod adds hires version of stock moon (Hi Res Small version has the moon size in sky reduced to half compared to original). GWX 2.1 moon is completely unrealistic for me (too big, looks like Earth seen from moon) and Ailantd mods are perfect.

If you will not find these mods anywhere in the net, I can send it to you.

Of course not, but you should remember one thing - always apply new mods after returning to port and rollback SH3Commander (if you use) before this.

ok thanks for the info send me the links where you got your mods we mentioned

I'll not state my obvious preference, but will say that you should try to avoid anything that is not installable via JSGME....at least until you become proficient and confident that you know what files you are adjusting/replacing http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

Heres my list of mods applied with jsgme, in the order i installed them:

AOTD-AA-Ship-Schleuse-Bugfix
GWX - Axis Mediterranean Aircraft Skins
GWX - Integrated Orders
GWX - Late War Sensors Snorkel Antennas
GWX - Merged Campaign
GWX - No Medals on Crew
Water_Stream_for_Uboats_V4
OLCE2
GWX 2.1 Crew Skins for OLCE2
GWX 2.1 Mission Orders
Remove All Object Reflections for OLCE2 (without VIIC41)
Torpedo damage Final ver2.0
LifeBoats&Debris_v3B
Racerboy_SH4_Effects_GWX_21
RB_SH4_GWX_21_204D
Rb_SH4_Effects_Life_boat

theres the odd bit of overwriting here and there, but this doesnt seem to be a problem (this configuration has been tested on the "sink target ships" patrol in the 7th flotilla campaign in aug39). i also use sh3 commander. other mods i use which arent enabled via jsgme are SH3Gen, Mission Orders, Warning Orders and Lehmann International News. Everythings aok!
i enabled RBs fx last cos its a work in progress and hasnt been perfected yet, unlike OLC's fx pack or gwx's Enhanced Damage Effects, so i can swap them around without too much difficulty, as the whim takes me. RBs fx are a lot prettier tho ;).
also i cant make my mind up whether to use the OLC Ubermod with or without reflections. im using without at the moment cos they dont seem to work that well, especially fx reflections. having said that olc's up to version 2.4 where he says relections have been improved, so when i get round to downloading that (im on 2.3) i might give relections another go. they do make nice eye candy, even if they are inconsistent in terms of how they look ingame.
hope this helps

cheers for supplying the link jim.
the mod relates to the various historical campaigns that are scripted into the career campaign. full details of these campaigns can be found in the GWX manual. Mission Orders sends radio messages which detail how you can join in these campaigns.
ive not experienced it directly yet, as im still in sept39 and the first scripted campaign doesnt occur until 1940.
youll be able to find full details at the link jimbuna gave above

Use your head.

You need a mod for eye-candy, one for realism, one for campaign scripts, one sound pack, one interior, one visual exterior, all this for mods that change the game.

For mods that add new stuff to the game, you should be downloading everyone of them.
