New version available! Now DanFrasers SpySat Modder 1.2
The readme is included here: LINK! (http://hosted.filefront.com/DanFraser/)
old stuff:
Well, some people like to do this. And more than just set everything to 100%, you can now modify any Campaign_RND.mis, decide whether you want to only task forces to be reported 100% of the time, or only large convoys, or more!
It creates a backup of your original, so there's no fretting there either. It could also work for SH4 if the campaign file uses the same style, but I don't have SH4, so...
Instructions: Just put in your ..SilentHunterIII\data\Campaigns\Campaign folder alongside your Campaign_RND.mis file. It will backup your existing one when you set changes, but other than that, that's it!

I'll have to check this out.
Could be a great testing tool by saveing time
not createing special test missions.
I should be able to create just merchants or just warships,
so on and so forth correct?

Thanks!
I have a new version that I will upload at the first opportunity.
The new one is better at displaying convoys and such. It also sorts out the contacts.cfg so that the range is sorted too. Still having an annoying time trying to get rid of boring little single ships, but it seems there are literally thousands of tankers and such spawning like mad.
So, this version is now obsolete. The new one also has a better GUI, ie. drop down combo boxes instead of a window that covers the entire screen.
I'm also working on creating a program that can read in all the information of the submarines (well, the hex stuff needs work) so that you can modify the information in a GUI instead of notepad. This also means it's a few clicks to get an XXI in 1939! So yeah, that kind of stuff.
More editing:
Ok, feedback is actually demanded(!) Tell me everything that is wrong with this program, what you would like to see, everything!
After being able to read through the monster that is the Campaign_RND.mis and be able to easily modify a few settings for selected groups, the cfg files should be easy. My intention is to create something the standard user can use, to do things like alter the convoy reports, to modify starting dates of subs, upgrades etc. This will not be a mod, but a mod TOOL. So any modders out there, if you have information on what something weird or undocumented means, let me know, because if it's usable, it'll be in the program!

Dan Fraser,
Welcome aboard.
You have requested feedbeck. It has been the experience on this forum that the better a program works, the less the feedback. And many modelers have
been frustrated by this.
When I have time, I will dl this tool and use it. I will try to give feedback then. We are currently testing GWX2.1 full time, so I won't be able to help for a while.

Well the fact that NO-ONE has complained means something :)

Hello Dan. I am a noobie when it comes to mods. I have tried for over an hour to download your mod without success. I use win zip for downloads. This might be the problem. I downloaded the file & extracted it to the proper folder, but Winzip can not open it so I have the compressed win zip file in the campaign folder. I am willing to bet that is not doing me any good. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated more than you know.

Wrong context....As in 'it has taken 10 month for the first piece, surely more users out in the community'.

Hello Big!
According to "readme" you should insert the .exe in the main folder of SH3, same place with SH3.exe. I did like that, it works.
You can download the 7zip program, freeware to unzip rar files (and 7zip ofcourse).
I hope this answer was little bit useful.
Merry Christmas to you, and happy New Year.

Well it's good to see the only problem so far is not actually my software :)
As suggested, use other extracting programs and see if they work. If not, try downloading it again, as the download may have been corrupted.

I, in fact, have used this for testing and have found it very useful, and never have had a CTD with it. I have also used the SH3 Gen mod for testing. The latter just reads the files and generates a map for you, without changing the game files.

Interesting!...It only took a couple of hours from downloading, installing, testing it and the feedback....I am not sure what the "10 month" stands for? Any ideas Jimbuna?:hmm:

It had taken 10 months from release to the first feedback, lol. I may do an updated version soon, choosing the big fat targets option still does too many smaller warships.

I'd like to see an option to make the contact percentages something other than 100%, if that's doable.

More than doable. Not sure why you'd want that in a cheat mod though :)

Because it would let me make the contact percentages more realistic? You are 'cheating' yourself if you just consider it a cheating mod.
