Hello, just downloaded gwx a pair of weeks ago.
I like it very much, thanks, great mod, adds a lot to the game, next time sell it (no better no), I miss something from the original, i want in shining days blue water below, its dark grey, anyone knows how to fix that?
It is possible to stop the tic tac of the clock?
This from the original but: Why you can you blow up an ilustrious fleet carrier with two torpedos and a small merchant sometimes needs 3? There is a fix?
Greetings!!.

As far as the water clarity if you use SH3 commander you can change those parameters.

If you want nice blue water, join the 29th Flotilla in the Mediterranean!:D

You can see blue in the Mediterranean?, but it doesnt look right, no matter where if there is sun and clear sky, 10 m below is blue!, you can see it on tv and deeper than 10m.
Please help.

Well,first ...
I had the same problem, but I implemented trasparency mod, and got used to effect;
second...
it is possible to stop "tic tac" without killing captain Huk or his nemessis, those are stock GWX sound files, so you can just delete them but you will lose some simfeeling atmosphere, and sounds;
third ...
you can allways tweak your torpedos files to make them more devastating, but don't exaggerate because your sim may become a shooter type game. Some of the ships need one torpedos, some others more. Read GWX manual to find out more about this.
I wish you good luck, go on patrol and try not to hit the bottom:up:

There is a file in the Ubisoft\SHIII\Sound folder called "clock." Back this up and try renaming this and see if the ticking stops.

As strange as this may sound and if my memory serves me correctly I believe there was a mod out there a long while back with the word 'vodka' in it's title which actually stopped the ticking sound :hmm:

.........and no I'm not drunk

Thanks for the help!!!

1 Half of the sub now dissapear viewed from the back while moving underwater, and in shiny days i got blue water, looks good, just installed one mod from UnRealUboat1.43 'Clear Water' but it is not so unreal, looks very real, you need to delete from that mod the scene.dat before installing it.
2 I renamed the clock.wav to clock.crap, and bye tic tac, thanks.
3 The torpedo thing, its the damage model i think, have no resolved.

God bless

Which version of The Grey Wolves did you download?

Was it version 1.1a?

Sounds like you are up to date.

Was just wondering about the clock volume as it has already undergone a couple of volume reductions.

Go into: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SH3 or GWX etc\data\Sound find the wav clock sound and reduce it's volume via Windows Sound Recorder

I too am running GWX 1.03 .. all the latest ... FANTANSTIC you guys .. thanks ...

I only noticed the tick toc of the clock in the conning tower since I was standing next to it ... and can barely hear it in the other screens .

I have another question and don't mean to take anything away from this thread but it concerns GWX maps ( plus don't want to start another thread for it ) ..... can't seem to find if the question has been brought up before ...... anyways , I keep getting messages from BDU with something like :

TO : U-46
44 degree N , 31 degree W
XXXXXXXXXX ( X= name of a ship )

I pulled all maps down and all but can't find a true navigation map that would show degree's ( I think SH2 had this type of map ) ......... Kinda hate ignoring orders from command but they should just give me grid positions instead :-? .... Navigation map has a BIG compass on it when I zoom in ( same as for attack map ) .... any way to remove these easily since I don't do manual targeting ?

Those types of message are historical messages sent to uboats in WW2
Or from attacked merchants

They are there for immersion only and even if you translate those into grid coordinates you wont find anything

I had a problem with not being able to see ships at night.

Lets say a big problem. Battleships at 500 meters were invisable to my eyes, but I could see with the little upside down arrow thing on the scopes. Not quite sure if that is exactly a fix for your mutliple questions, but REWINE helped me with these files.

Download "Visibility Mod Blend"

here....

As far as I know Redwine is the author and credit goes to him. ***Anyone else that participated, please do not be offended that I didnt read the readme.***

Try using these files, they are JGMSE compatable and worked for me well.

MODs I use are below. Although the 400m depth gauge doesnt work, but since I cannot find a MOD that makes a boat go that deep, it doesnt matter so I have not un-installed it.

DepthGaugeMoD
Fubars harbor personnel
FUBARS ship crew skins
Fubars VIIC U253
GWX - 16km Atmosphere
GWX - Captain America's Officer Icons
GWX - English Nav Map and Grid Refs
GWX - Integrated Orders
GWX - Late War Sensors Snorkel Antennas
GWX - Lite Harbor Traffic
GWX - Main movie - 'Das Boot'
IIA U-Boat Skin {1}
ImprovedSmoke1_1
REL_GWX_Flavored_to_Taste_FINAL
SH-III_Flagmod
The Elite U-Boat Crew Uniform
TransparenteKonsole
Senors Vis Moon

Thanks for clearing that up for me bigboywooly .... Every time I got one of those messages and unable to comply I was getting worried I might be met by the Gestapo when i returned to port because I didn't do anything  ......

On another note I think I might be last u-boat left pretty soon .. all my fellow kaptains seem to want to give their position away by gloating to BDU that they sunk a ship or two and radio in
