Thanks.

The file name will depend on what type of u-boat you have. Example type VII would be named druck_radio_7. The file can be found in data\Textures\TNormal\Tex.

I check in this folder over and over and over again and it is empty..nothing in there. NOTHING AT ALL :)

What game are you using? Stock SH3 or a supermod.:hmm:

EDIT - You've got to be using GWX. The files have been packed into the DAT files to improve performance. You'll need to extract the textures by using either Pack3D or Timetraveller's SH3 Extractor.

You'll find both of these in the Tools sticky near the top of the Mods Section.

You would have to extract the file with Pack3D version 2 from the dat file found in the submarine Interior folder, eg for type VIIC:
Extract druck_radio_7.tga from SilentHunterIII\data\Interior\NSS_Uboat7\NSS_Uboat 7_CR.dat
Don't quote me I think it's the _CR.dat file, once extracted you can use a paint program to edit then just place the file in the SilentHunterIII\data\Textures\TNormal\tex folder, and SHIII will use this over the default, if you need Pack3D or the individual files for each of the 4 types just let us know, and I will upload them, hope this helps.:yep:
Cheers.

Hello again. I was wondering if you could upload those files for me. And could you send me detail on how to make it all work? I downloaded SH3 Unpacker and have even gone as far as finding the druck7_CR.dat file BUT not sure how to extract it to paint. Im sorry im a little noob when it comes to this sort of thing. Any help will be nice :)

IIRC you can extract all the textures from your SH3/GWX installation using SH3 Extractor.

Just point it to your installation when it askes and then extract all the textures to a separate folder.

Once they are all extracted, the folders/structure will named the same as the original.

So you will see a folder called druck7_CR.dat and in there will be all the textures you need.

To work with them or create new, you need a image suite which works with TGA files.

Once you have finished, create a folder structure, like this (Name of Mod\data\Textures\TNormal\tex folder) and place your new TGA files in there. Then enable with JSGME.

Thanks guys:)

After messing around for a few hours and downloading Microsoft Digital Imaging I was able to accomplish what I set out to do. Now my daughter is amazed at how I was able to put a picture of her up in the sub. She thinks I'm a genius. :)

It was actually very easy to do. I might play around with this stuff more.

Thanks again.
