How can you adjust the night-time darkness when using the GW mod?
It is just way too dark for my poor eyes.
Thanks a ton in advance. ;):)

You can try perhaps the Light Atmosphere mod instead of one of the dark ones. It's part of the optional installs, just run the install again and choose it.

Brighten the screen also. If you have a program for you video card to change gamma/contrast etc. Try that.

I tried installing the "light" model.
is there somewhere in the cfg files that i can tweak some numbers?
Sorry for being such a pain...
I always thought that the "light model" was for light monitors and that the dark was for dark ones. Meaning that if your monitor is fairly dark that the light atmousphere mod makes everything lighter. And vice versa.

More of a reality mod.

The 'Light' version is supposed to be for those who can't see anything. The 'Dark' version is for those of us for whom a dark, cloudy night looks like daylight.
Unlike almost everybody else, no matter what I do it's never dark enough.

Well, if you look at your monitor, there should be a button labelled "Brightness"...

I had 'dark side of the moon' in white vinyl and lent it to a friend and yes, I never saw it again. See on E-Bay now .. big bucks !

My monitor is old and the brightness settings are constantly at 100. So the Light mod is a bit darker than a I can handle. Add to that the glare from lights in the room (family computer in the far end of the living room) and seeing anything at night is hopeless.
Though I have been dabbling with the brightness settings of my video card. That's my best hope right now.

I find GW1.1 16KM dark is absolutely perfect . At night its dark , like its hard to see stuff because its at night .

I suppose I am lucky in that I can play in a darkened room
Got myself a Saitek keyboard that lights up so have no trouble hitting "C" in an emergency :rotfl:
My nights look the same as Sobers anyway

My next keyboard will definitely be lit up since it's a must to play in the dark. :know:
Anyways, I had used the 16kdark mod with GW1.1a and with my very bright, ultrasharp, high resolution LCD monitor, the picture looked perfect to me.

For the life of me, i swear there is some setting inside the scene.dat that adjusts the light gradient. I don't know where i got this scene.dat, but ive used it for a long time now in my own game. It was some version that fixed the sky dome directly overhead. I think this file has some value that was hex edited that isn't in the tweaker. Suffice to say, using this scene.dat, no matter how dark your monitor is, you can see at night. It might even be a bit too bright, but it works.

If your like me and have a real craptastic monitor where even after maxing brightness/contrast/ and some gamma and your still do damn dark. Heres the file i was talkinga bout.

I dont know where this file orginally came from, i dont even know if i did that nighttime brightness or not. I just know ive had it for awhle, and have tinkered with it off and on. Its a 16K range scene.dat

Try my files :
http://rapidshare.com/files/4440807/Night_Visibility.rar.html
I cant remember what a quantity of changes and from who they contains, some are mine, and some from other moders.
I have a very good night visibility.
In the past, when i shared them the people was satisfied with the night visibility level, may be you too.
The matter is, in the past when i attempt to share them, they are not useful if they are not used together.
Almost Scene.dat and enviromental and sky colours must to be used together.
I add more of the files into my folders to be sure you can have a similar effect i can enjoy on my installation.
Be sure you made a back-up first in the case you dont like them....
Good luck....
