Finally I got my computer ram updated so that now I am capable of enjoying all of those supermods that have emerged and I decided on the NYGM mod and find it great, thanks to the NYGM team for making a super sim even more super :D I only have one thing, the menu bar in the bottom, it's too big and black for my taste, no criticism, I just think that it's a pitty that it hides so much of the wonderful graphic works you have done, especially inside the subs. So, is there any way of making it smaller or maybe even transparent?

Then I have a question on how to mod. flags. I have downloaded an excellent small program called datTexTract.exe, which is able to open .Dat files, retrieve the TGA's for modding and then reinserting them again into the same .Dat file. My problem is, however, that after I have modified a flag, its size becomes altered to and datTextract refuses to insert the altered TGA into the .Dat file. Its size in kb has to be the same, does anyone know how to play around with this? Or solve the problem in another way :) ?

About Flag Textures, Take note of the Resolution of the extracted flags (eg. 128 x 128 etc) also take note of the bits/pixel data. Your edited flags must be the same as the ones extracted, although they don't have to be the same size in KB.

I assume that you are extracting the texture with Timetravellers tool, SH3 Unpacker and re-packing the DAT's with Chessmaster 10 Unpacker?

Also what editing software are you using?

Why not install "FLB Sale U-999's 6 Dials Simfeelin Mod for use with NYGM 2.2", it has a far better and smaller console for the bottom of the screen and the other dials are very usefull - you can always slide them away if you don't need them.

Check it out at: http://www.wolvesatwar.org/nygm

Cheers, Hans

Sorry for the late replies, I have been away for 2 days :)

Danlisa:

I am using exactly the program you mention to extract the textures, to edit the flags, I use paint, you know, the silly little program that comes with windows  I don't have any better  and then I use IrFanview to batch convert the files from TGA to something editable and back again.

Uber Gruber:

Thank you very much for the link! :D I did not know that this mod existed

Do you have some other menu mod installed? I have not found reference to this either in the default NYGM TW menu_1024_768.ini or the Sale's version.

I can only presume it is from some other menu mod.

Welcome aboard.

It's okay now :) I found the error, it was in the G3F IXXX entrances in the 1024/768.ini file. When I had to put in all of the blocks from the 6dial mod. it turned out that it had already been altered by another mod. and thereby the IXX numbers were in the wrong sequence with 2 G3F I300 entrances refering to each their own menu, the blocks from the other mod. was in the bottom of the file which was why I hadn't seen them, after correcting the IXX numbers to a correct sequence it all worked  . By the way, is there any way to remove the old SHIII dials in the bottom left corner so that only the 6dials menues are available? Thank you for replying

About the flags, I have reattempted and get the same error. The program reports that the colour depth is wrong, the original is of 16 bit colour depth and the altered one that I want to insert is of 24 bit colour depth, this is why the program (the 10'th chessmaster etc.) refuses to insert the new flags into the .Dat file. Does anyone have an idea of what to do? :D
