Meeting with Günter Prien!

Course of the game would of course like the highlights of the Realistic

missions influence of Günter Prien.

Eine Innovation die , die U-Boot Fahrer zu Helden und schnellen erfolge verhelfen kann.

Meet Günther Prien!!

Gameplay should affect historical missions, like Günther Priens raid of Scapa Flow. It would be interesting, if one could take actions that change can the historical outcome of such special missions like the above mentioned. If you're at the correct place at the correct time one could join Priens mission and thus affecting the outcome by either helping or f**king the whole thing up. By helping one should gain some credit & influence for this or by hurting the mission one should suffer demotion and loss of influence.

What do you mean by influence? Command over aircrafts and other vessels?
Was meinst du mit Einfluss? Kontrolle über andere Schiffe und Flugzeuge?

Of course that would be great but the problem is that it's a game. Thus there will be many more enemy ships in the ocean in the game compared to the actual numbers in the war (check Uboat.net you'll see there where many boats which didn't see any enemy at all). In SH3 there was a Spy satellite mod which showed all the contacts and convoys, there where probably 40-50 convoys around at all times, while RL there where a lot less.

An other thing.. we as players will take more risk than they would RL. resulting in more daring attacks on BB's and/or Aircraft cariers. We could most likely kill the complete navy from the British in year 1 of the war

Wenn man in der Champagne eine Mission schafft bekommt man Punkte (so zu sagen Einfluss)
Mit diesen Kann man neue (bessere) U-boote erwerben, oder man bekommt einen rang ( Auszeichnung ).
Wodurch man durch ein falsches Verhalten den rang verlieren kann.
Zum Beispiel bei einer geheimen Mission wurde immer von der BDU Funkkontakt verboten.
Wenn man das Ignoriert bringt man Z.B einen Wolfsrudel angriff in Gefahr und verrät den Standort.

Oder man versaut den Prien seine Mission und bringt die englische Flotte in Alarmbereitschaft.
Schon hat man den Verlauf der Geschichte verändert.
Was zu einem Erfolg oder zu einer Niederlage führen kann.

So stell ich mir auch eine Dynamische Champagne vor.

Was denkt ihr darüber.

Thanks Tomi, I'll translate that too if you don't mind...the google translator absorbs quite a lot of meaning.


What I meant was:
If you finish a mission in the campaign you'll earn points/influence. With these one can "buy" newer/better u-boats or get a promotion. Although if you show detrimental behavior you will get a demotion.

Example: On secret missions radio traffic was prohibited by the BdU. Ignoring an order like this it could jeopardize a wolfpack attack as it might reveal the position.


Or you f**k up Priens mission and get the britisch navy to go to go on alert. This changes the outcome of history which leads to success or defeat.


my two cents:

It seems to me that this campaign-system is not too different from the actual SH4 campaign. You get renown points for new stuff and if you are good enough you'll get a new boat (if historically available). The new idea as I understand is that you propose a demotion system if you e.g. pull a Rockin Robbins (forgive me RR ) and hurt your own navy you'll get a demotion (or in fact worse).
It seems that should be possible to implement, but what could the consequences of a demotion be? Give up command of your boat for a lesser model or for good?
And if you really want to alter history: You could change the progress of the war but it'd still be lost.
But overall it sounds interesting to have missions that you can also mess up and have to face a penalty more than some negative renown.
