Need help please, Im running the NYGM tonnage mod and I have saved a few times during attacks on shippage, and now there doesn't seem to be the record of the two ships I have sunk...anyone ant ideas as to how to go about fixing this or is it best to write off the tonnage and don't save during attacks next time.

There is already a multitude of threads about this. I have seen it mself happening, but the creators of this mod vehemently claim it is not. The mechanics of this mod are very complicated so I am not sure yet if it's my fault or the mod's. It is certainly a problem that people like me run GW with NYGM included and smaller mods on top.
The only way to avoid this most of the time is probably to always fire spreads, which is also more realistic (british commanders fired up to twelve torpedoes at single targets).

GlobalExplorer,
I believe that this issue is different from the one that you are refering too. As noted by yourself, since the seach funtion has gone to google (????) it no longer is worth using, I did anyway, but I cannot find the threads. There is an issue with the vanilla install of the game where tonnage went missing, this is not a standard denial about the NYGM SD Mod. Hopefully someone else can recall the thread/s... |

If the sunken ships are recorded in the patrol log but the credit is not carried over to the career log, then the usual cause is through upgrading U-boat equipment prior to commencing the first patrol in a career. It's a well known stock SH3 anomaly - the other side effect being that your career and flotilla start dates are not saved either.
The fix is to not upgrade prior to commencing the first patrol, or if you must, save your patrol *just* prior to docking. Apparently, assuming that no credit is recorded after you dock, reloading the last save game and docking again seems to correct it for most players. The other possibility is through saving the game during the "heat of the battle". It's always best to save well before or well after confrontation. In between increases the likelyhood of ships that you *thought* you sunk not being recorded (it also seems to contribute to corrupt save games). Although if you are 100% sure that you saw the "She's going down" message then the ship sinkings should still have been recorded. But again, I've read of players saving during battle only to lose the sinkings when they finish. So best not to do it anyway. If none of the above applies to your situation, then I'm out of ideas.

Oh, and don't forget that bad weather will take credit for some of your sinkings from time to time.

Thanks for the replies folks, I think it's down to saving during the heat of battle that this problem occurs, I already have one large cargo ship on this patrol recoreded, but the last one hasn't and I expect the same with the one Im attacking now.
