Ok i have been working on a mod that, well its a type of thing where i asked myself.
"Self, ok youve played realist for awhile, but things are getting kinda stale, i need a change of pace, what kind of campaign would you like to play?" First thing that popped into my head was , "Im sick of the atlantic", the second thought that popped into my head was, "id like to get far far away from this theater, the farther away, the more exotic, the better", and lastly, "id like a bloody challenge". Now a long time ago i thried going to the Indian ocean as a monsun boat and was sorely disappointed. Is the default traffic realistic? Oh yeas, the monsun boats realy didnt score alot of tonnage, but is this fun? no, not really. So i went about to remedy the situation. Allow me now to introduce my own personal mod, Monsun_boats: Let me state that there is absolutely no historical accuracy to this at all. None, what so ever. Well i take that back, the only historical accurate thing is Penang, and the fact im using the 12th floatilla, and this little blurb: "The Monsun U-boats were perhaps the most special "wolfpack" in the war as they operated very far from Germany and its occupied countries, namely in the Indian Ocean out of japanese provided bases in Indonesia" Any historical accuracy begins and ends there. Orginally i started this mod using Improved convoys, and harbor traffic mods as a base. I had intended this theater to be accessed from the main game. However over time, i decded that due to the wild histroical inaccuracies, i had better just make it, its own game. ( Being historically accurate just demands more time in research then im willing to commit) So heres the existing readme Quote:

Release it. It's all a game and this just adds a little more spice to SH3. For those who may not like some of the "inaccuracies", they do not have to use your mod.

I play in the Med, so I won't be able to use your mod, but I think you should release it... I'm sure there are many others who share your opinion of the Atlantic: BORING. I mean after 50+ missions in the Atlantic, of course it would get boring....
A fun campaign once in a while should be... well, fun! ![]()

Revamping the med to make it a campaign unto itself is an idea ive harbored, as a campaign that emphasizes the type7. That and the north atlantic, with lots of icebergs! This indian campign emphases the type9, as only the type 9 has enough fuel and torpedo's to make it worthwhile id think. I'll zip what i got up and hopefully upload it to uboat.realsimulations.com or figure out how to do the same with rapidshare i suppose. It needs alot more work, but what the hell, why not. |

Ok, rapidshare scares me, i didnt even need a login to upload.
http://rapidshare.de/files/9230842/G...S_1_1.zip.html EDIT: Incase anyones acutally using this mod, i put up an update. I had inadvertnatly put in a major traffic bottleneck that was relativly unprotected. Quick fix was to stick a HK group at the entrance to the red sea, and inprove crew rating from competant to veteran on large airbase that covers that area. |

If anyone acutally tries this mod out, let me know what you think, or your feedback. Was things too easy? Too hard? too much or something? Too little of something?
I mainly made this for myself, but made it in such a way where if i were to release it, i could. Point being, if theres any intrest in this mod, ill continue to tweak it as per feedback. Otherwise, like i said, i really made it for myself, and will just let it go after i change up my campagin to a new theater. |

Meh, wow, this old thread?
I gave up on it, but feel free to remark on it, i never did get any feedback. Although i have been contemplating retouching Improved convoys that way linking all theaters together instead of just making an alternate (and isolated) campaign unto itself . Ive already ramped up the spawn rates on the med, south atlantic, carribean and east cost, and some of the artic russian traffic too i bleieve. On one hand what im doing is counterintuitive to realsm, on the other hand i think some of the IC settings are WAY OVERKILL. For example, all AMerican traffic and a couple other random groups that i remember seeing has only one unit in the random group that has a 0% chance to spawn, and said random group has an 8% chance to spawn. ESSSHHHH. If your not seeing anything to shoot at in 1944, this is probably why. Ive noticed the same for the black sea, med, and Northatlantic/artic traffic. |

Ducimus:
I downloaded you mod last month, but I wanted to finish my current career first before trying this mod. If I recall correctly, I thought one of the newer "package" mods that can out this month included this very concept (and I am guessing thanks to you). |
