What do you guys think of this?

I'm thinking of developing a mod for Sid Meier's Pirates! that adds and corrects the following:
-English Warships with the correct color schemes and stats
-American warships (replaces ship of the line) with correct color schemes and stats
-Warships and merchant ships of other factions will have color schemes that relate to whatever time period they are in
-Stars and Stripes as usable flag
-Only Spanish Ships of the Line can have the name "Santissima Trinidad"
-Improved stats for all ships and reduced firepower on merchant vessels
-Crew capacity of some ships will be reduced/raised
-Most Wanted Pirates now have the correct ship, Henry Morgan will no longer have the Queen Anne's Revenge
I wouldn't start until after Christmas, 2015 as I'll probably repair my PC by then.
If you have any suggestions, please tell me! I'll take any ideas that don't require extreme modding skills (I'm okay with editing 3D models and changing stats)
How does this sound to the Subsim community? Good idea, or is it too hard?

I'm also looking for testers for when this mod is (eventually) released.
As a reminder, I might not include everything on my To-Do list. It's a lot, and I'm not that skilled of a modded. I will deliver, however, a final product.

Yeah, I know of hooked on pirates. If you mean the US Ships mod there, yeah, it's good, but I won't just add textures, I'll change stats, speed, damage, etc to make it as realistic as possible to the 6 original 24-pounder frigates of the US Navy. I don't think I'll edit anything else, but I'll definitely change the English (British) Warships colors to be black/gold and not light brown-red.
As for buying the game, you can be a tester then, if you'd like that.
