yeh...where is the 1.2 patch autodownload on uplay

I had exact same problem today. Upgraded my subscription so i could download and install Sobers Megamod. Took all day to install and set up, when i went to start nothing worked because it was still v1.05. It hadn't updated itself though uplay like my other games. I really think ubi ought to get its act together before they sink without a trace. I have since uninstalled the mess and will download again some other time.

Yeah I just asked about this same thing on these forums. My game version red 1.0.5 and patch was named 1.0.2 :P and then it said it couldn't install on this version of the game (1.0.5), of course I thought my game was already patched as I installed it with ubilauncher, but NO! Thank to guys in these forums I got this thing sorted out quickly. 1.2 collectors edition patch worked, although I dont remember having collectors edition Just what's the point of having all these ubilaunchers if they don't do basic things like patching the game :P

Hey Jaskor,
Where do you find the link to the 1.2 collectors edition patch as the one I downloaded on Sobers Mega Mod page won't install for me either ?
Cheers,

Cub 1.

Oh and Sober, do I need the SH5.exe patches by TheDarkWraith on your page and if so at what point do I install them ?
Thanks for all your help guys.....

Default Silent Hunter 5 Patch Info - Downloaded uPlay Version

Okay guys I think I've worked this out.

The version that is installed when you buy and download Silent Hunter 5 from uPlay is v1.05 and won't automatically update further.
The update link on Sobers Mega Mod page is for the European Version 1.2 and won't install over uPlay's version.

Go into your installed game - C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\Support\GameUpdater\GU.exe and run this updater which will download the collectors edition patch identified by _col_1.2 which works.

Hope this helps someone else out there.....

It's time something was done about this mess. I sure wish Neal would contact them and find a way to fix this UPlay crap. It's ridiculous UBI has walked away and not helped solve this like they said they were going to do.

It is a bit ridiculous.

I was working off the DVD through Uplay, and it was only providing the first patches automatically. I then started running it via Steam, which would kick up the Uplay system...I finally fixed it with a manual download of 1.2 from Ubi's site (euro version which matched mine thankfully - I couldn't find a US version anywhere {not that I needed it, but at the time I didn't know}).

After installing a few mods, it made me realise just how poorly this game was developed by Ubi. The gameplay and graphics enhancements modded in aren't coding...they are simply getting the game to do what it is capable of. It's great that there are people out here who do this, and I'm really appreciative, but conversely it's poor that these things weren't introduced by the devs in the first place...there's a big difference between 'tweaking' and 'base line building'.
