Default Mod assist required

Guys, I'm having a hard time keeping up with my current patrol, only because of a stupid mistake of choosing authentic instead of metric back at base. I wanted to try it, but now, it's becoming increasingly boring, consumes alot of time which is better on target, and frankly I want to change it before I resume patrol back to metric, is there a tweak to this?

Second, IIRC, the periscope stadimeter had a horizontal line which you place on the waterline and pull it up to get a range. Now, in stock 1.5, this line stays on the original image, and the duplicate dragged has nothing. I'm left with aligning it close to the nearest mast tick marks (vertical tick marks on scope), but I know there is a tweak or a mod which adds this line. It surely would help when you cant draw accurately.

Guys I also wonder if there is a mod that changes the looks of the periscope tick marks? like the Kollmorgen, only fitting 1.5 stock? I know some may answer with RSRD or RFB or TMO, but I cant comply since my lap CTDs with any mods.

Does anybd have the convoy map for stock 1.5? there is a 1000 X 1238 image that someone had it? maybe veterans could lend a hand?

this one

only bigger of course.. I'm sorry but I didnt find it on this thread:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom//sho...d.php?t=161175

nor google has it.

And I just discovered that moving ANYTHING with optics including deck gun, periscope, etc, can be achieved more accurately when you hold down Ctrl and move the mouse, very accurate to those of you who complained of DG jerking quickly..

Also, the ships draft entry is useless since in the manual, you have predetermined under the belt depths for impact only, which is more used since open seas, unlike regular port seas, got various tides.

This is what I mean from SH5:

the red line = stadimeter superimposed horizontal line.

which I'm still playing, I've given up command of a Balao class in exchange for staying at Pearl and keeping post (I had a save before I accepted the bloody boat), not only did I give up on Balao, I also surrendered my 4 juicy patrols that got me to the 16th patrol... I'm currently at Jan 1943, and my target is to spread the play onto mid July 1943, when I'll be getting the Mark 18 eel. I fired alot of it before reverting six months earlier because Lockwood simply wants me to roam like 4 times the size of Australia, and my patience is becoming bitter to Mark 23 and Mark 14 bubbly eels.. I gotta tell you skippers, Mark 18 despite slow and short ranged, yet is really saves your boat. I sunk 4 DDs without them buzzing collision until it was postmortem..

Any consolation on that matter is appreciated.

Sorry, didn't see anything except some complaints?

Reading it again...

The metric/yard setting can be swapped anytime, but of course first exit SH4.
Open Documents\(sh4)\data\cfg\gameplaysettings.cfg and change last line to MeasurementUnits=metric

However I'm unaware of how nomograph works in stock - hasn't really never played that version...

Btw. if your laptop ctd when loading mods, you really should examine what's causing this. Most probably reason is driver issues...

Have no idea of the periscope. Being a happy TMO customer and all that. There are some mods with alternatives though - do a search.

Perhaps you may find SCAF mod useful?

So that's why your playing vanilla. Have you tried websters Game Fixes Only mod? If my thoughts are correct, it's more like an unofficial patch. I would think it would not up the requirements of the computer any.

I've picked some things from it and installed manually after backing up the game for 3 times on 3 dvds. It's cool. Hey Duce, do you have this old SH4 stock map? the one on my first post, would mean alot to me if you have it. I got the one everyone talks about but I want the original one. The one that came with the game. I'll understand if you dont have it since its rare to find I acknowledge.

Hmmm, that's funny, no map came with my game and I've got the Gold Edition DVD.

Yeah, I knew it came w/the Collectors Edition but those were sold out long ago. Too bad it wasn't included as an essential, even w/downloaded versions. Even a .pdf or .jpg would've been better than nothing. Oh well, I guess UBI-robbed had to keep the overhead down somewhere.

Some of us bought it pre-released but these days are by far gone...

But since I have no life what better way to waste what's left of it, than spending a Saturday night scanning and trimming 'till you're blue in the face...

Taa-Daah!

In this folder http://www.mediafire.com/?pp9re19p51l42 you'll find the map in following sizes:

1024x860
1280x1080
1920x1600
3000x2500

I also have the full-size 7778x6492, but it's 106MB...
And of course the raw scan 343MB
