Default Russell Crowe Eyeing Master & Commander II

Ford stock hit $8, and now this. 2008 is looking to be a good year

Quote:
Russell Crowe may don his captain's attire once more and return to sailing the high seas.

In speaking with the AP this past week while in London, Crowe stated that he is in the early stages of negotiations to star in a sequel to Master & Commander but it is only one of several future projects he is considering.
Apparently a script has already been written based on The Reverse of the Medal, the eleventh novel of Patrick O'Brian's 20-novel series. In the novel, captain Jack Aubrey sails the HMS Surprise into the Caribbean where he meets his illegitimate son. Master & Commander without Crowe on board would be a huge mistake so I'm sure there's a lot of pressure on him to attach his name and push to move the film towards green light status. As a fan of Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World, I really hope all parties can come to terms so the HMS Surprise can be prepped to sail again.

Were you a fan of Russell Crowe’s performance in the 2003 sea epic, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World? Apparently you’re not alone, because so was Russell Crowe!

1 of the few films I liked him in, plus he's a cricket fan. He gave Shane Warne some stick when he appeared in the commentary booth during 1 of the tests (2nd test?), makes him a good bloke in my books.

Cool,

Crow for sure is a good actor and there never can be enough Movies with sailing ships. Plus they obviously paid attention to the details in the first part.

I loved the scene at the beginning when the enemy ship was barely visible in the murk and uddenly these flashes illuminated the fog and then you heard the shells fly over your head. Very cool visual and audio effects in this scene.

I had heard that they had always planned to make a second one but it got stalled up. Good to see we may get another one!

I have not seen it either but I think I will. My all time favorite is Gladiator. If this is anywhere near close to that storyline and performance then I'm all over it.

Go watch it, you won`t regret it. It`s not as good as Gladiator IMO, but still a very good movie. Best into a cinema, this is definatly one movie which has to be seen on the big screen and with a good sound system.

The books aren`t bad either, although the writing "sounds" a little dated nowadays.

Greets

I think Master and Commander is a better movie than Gladiator.

We will see August. Gladiator had it all IMO. Just one well made movie and the masters when it came to the musical score. All aspects of an A++ movie was there IMO.
