[REL] Hud Mod for TMO 1.6.3

I made this mod for TMO a while ago but never released it. I just finished updating it to TMO 1.6.3. My main goal was to give the hud a new and improved look while also making it darker and easier on the eyes for night viewing. Various changes/improvements were made to the order's buttons. For a complete list of changes see below.

Screenshot of Hud:

Sample of new attack & night periscope buttons. Button now stays illuminated while scope is raised.

Radio & Nav Map (Default Darkened Day Version):

Optional Rig for Red Version:

List of changes:

- Added new Hud textures.
- Removed the background textures for the 'orders tabs' and reduced their size for improved visibility.
- Modified various orders buttons:

Command Room Tab
- Replaced Helm button with an existing graphic.
- New button graphic for 'Dive' command.
- Added surface button to helm.
- New button graphic for 'Silent Running'.

Navigation Tab
- Replaced navigation & attack map buttons with an existing graphic.
- Added new 'Radio & Map' button (see radio map mod below).
- Added chronometer button.

Periscope Tab
- New button graphic for both attack and night scopes
- New button graphic for raise/lower scopes.
- Added open/close torpedo tubes button.

Bridge Tab
- Replaced bridge and TBT buttons with existing graphic.
- Added open/close torpedo tubes button.

Deckgun Tab
- New button for deck gun.

AA Guns Tab
- New button graphics for AA stations.

Sonar Tab
- Replaced sonar button with existing graphic.

Radar Tab
- New button graphic for A-Scope.
- Replaced PPI button with existing graphic.

Sub Management Tab
- Replaced Crew management & Weapons/Sensors buttons with existing graphics.
- New button graphics for Damage/Control, Torpedo Management and Torpedo Auto loading buttons.

Miscellaneous Tab
Changed the name of 'Cameras' Tab to Misc. IMO, calling this tab a "camera" is incorrect since it also contains various other buttons such as radio, grammophone, etc.

- New graphic for MISC. Tab.
- Added new 'Radio & Map' button (see radio map mod below).
- Restored grammophone and button.
- Added new button graphics for 'Radio Messages' button.

Other changes:
- Misc. changes too small to list such as tooltips, button behavior, etc...

RADIO & MAP MOD

Replaces convertion chart with a pulldown Radio & Campaign Map. I find it useful to get an idea of potential enemy mine locations as well as airplane threat radius. Original concepts by CaptainCox and Otto.
I HEAVILY edited the original map texture by IIElohimII. Resized and enhanced image in many ways...even made the scale true. Also added an enhanced version of castorp345's new radio texture.
Two versions included - Original darkened day version and a Rig for Red version. (See 'RMM Optional' folder)

Misc. unrelated changes that made it into this mod:

- Reduced Objective Icons on map by 50 % and tweaked the graphic for the "objective completed" icon.

- Fixed incorrect recognition manual positioning and positioning of scale indicator. (Note: Only tested on widescreen resolutions.)

- Added "Start with fire control panel closed" tweak by Panthercules.

EDIT: Fixed very minor issue with wrong TMO version displaying in game menu.

Enjoy!

You should take the mod up one level folder wise, and name that folder after the mod. That allow for JSGME to have it listed by name.

I use 7zip's right-click context menu to unzip my stuff...it automatically creates the unzipped folder based on the file name. However, if you unzip the file through the interface (don't know why anyone would), then it will not automatically create the folder; so I can see how the problem could arise. I updated the download to include the main folder name. Unfortunately, anyone who unzip's their files like I do, you will now have double folders.

Can't please everyone....

Thanks for the mod--but, what a goofy download site. First I to create an account which I don't really want to do, then still couldn't get it to download. I finally clicked on what looked like a Yahoo business download and that was it. Wierd.

Ah ok Winrar doesn't do that and I always use the context menu.

I agree with you, media fire can be annoying with the way it looks (banner, ads, etc.) but comon man..it says it right there in big letters "Click here to start download.."

Also, you don't have to register to download.

I used to use file planet for a lot of my work but I had problems in the past where my files/images just disappeared. Mediafire might not look nice but its been reliable and consistent thus far.

Right. I thought that download button was for the Yahoo Hot jobs that is within that box. I had already registered by the time I decided to try that button. Just so others know....

I like your mod, the map pulldown is fabulous, but hope you can advise me as to how I can fix a small problem. I'm also using one of the "Better Scopes" mods and there is a confict that overwrites the scope (1024X768 ini). Is there a simple edit or deletion from your mod that leaves the "Better Scopes" intact?

I've been using this for a couple of days now. Fabulous mod! I only play at night. Now, unless I'm actually looking at the command bar for something, it's easy to forget it's there. Which, of course, is the way it should be.

I highly recommend this mod.
