Default [REL] BritishAsdicDevice v1.01.

This is in response to Letums excellent thread.
In most of the books that I have read about the U-Boats the men describe the sound as..."a hammer hitting the hull! or..."gravel being dropped on the hull!"
This is due to high frequency sound waves rebounding from the hull at a frequency that the human ear can detect! [Hitman's excellent comments.]
In this mod I have attempted to recreate that sound!

Its fully JGME ready.

Of course, I haven't hears the sound it should make, but that sounds lie it might be close.

If only we had someone who has heard it before...

Interesting interpretation :hmm: The sound certainly seems closer to any underwater generated impulse so far , yet the second part is what makes me doubt. First, because the rattle should only be heard when the beam is actually trained to your sub, and the waves actually reach the hull (Wether they are strong enough to generate a visible response to the ASDIC operator, that's a different matter). Second, because I somehow expect a larger time difference between emision and rattle, though of course that will vary largely depending on the distance of the emmiter. Of course, this last comment is a rather subjetive indication because since the audible and non audible waves travel at the same speed through water, you will actually hear them together. In that regard, the sound is correct.

But as I said first, it is really the best underwater ASDIC I've heard so far. Installed for staying

Hitman thanks for the positive reply.
I hear what you are saying and I am going to work on the sound a little bit more to get the effect of a slight repeat or echo of the beam hitting and bouncing off the hull (receeding).
I think the hull vibrations are a little too load and I will reduce them and make a few other minor alterations in v1.02.
Thanks again for your very positive input.
