Default [REL] SH3 Commander Release 3.1 is now available!

SH3 Commander Release 3.1 is now available!

New features:
- New option: "Start patrols at sea"
- Removed options to set preferred rank or medal language. SH3 Commander will now reference whatever rank labels are in the game (refer to User Guide for potential compatibility problems)
- Now prompts to save outstanding changes if another crewman is selected in the Crew Manager screen
- Added ability to change the Patrol Log "Grid" column title through SH3 Commander, in the same manner as the other two column titles (via SH3Cmdr_*.txt file)
- Added ability to modify date format used in Patrol Log (via SH3Cmdr_*.txt file)
- Demotions now recorded in Personnel File

Installation
If you are running SH3 Commander Release 3.0 then you can install this release straight over the top. If you are running an earlier release, then you must uninstall it before installing this release. You do not need to remove any residual files or folders.

Prior to uninstalling your previous release, make sure that you have:

1. removed the SH3 Commander-based mods from Silent Hunter III by pressing the 'Rollback SH3' button in SH3 Commander;

2. backed up any SH3 Commander files that you may have modified, including SH3Cmdr.ini.

If you've installed any add-ons, like the GWX2 aircraft markings mod, these will not be uninstalled. Thus, if you install SH3 Commander R3.1 into the same folder as your previous installation, you will not need to reinstall any such add-ons.

GWX users: Once SH3 Commander R3.1 is installed, GWX users need to (re)install a number of modified SH3 Commander files. Please consult your GWX manual for further instructions on how to do this.

NYGM users: Once SH3 Commander R3.1 is installed, NYGM users need to (re)install a number of modified SH3 Commander files. Please consult your NYGM manual for further instructions on how to do this.

Important: Please Read ( Jan 22, 2009 )
Link removed, information regarding this will be posted soon so please be patient, thanks.

Thankyou very much for the "start patrol at sea" option.
It will save my CPU a lot of stress!
How far out do you start?

Hello,
i just installed the SH3 COmmander 3.1, thank you !
I already read the manual, but can you send a link or give info about what kind of additional files i need in the SH3 installation with GWX2.1 to use the SH Commander 3.1 ?
It is mentioned that depending on which mod you would have to download certain files for NYGM or GWX2.1 respectively, in oder to make SH3 commander work, but there is no further info - or did i get something wrong ?
I'll read it again now ...
Thanks and greetings,
Catfish

Default GWX 2.1 compatible with Sh3cmdr 3.1?

The latest compatibility files with gwx 2.1 are for sh3 cmdr 3.0 . does that mean I cannot use those files if i install sh3 cmdr version 3.1 on top of gwx 2.1?

Where does it say that? From the GWX compatability file readme:
Quote:
===GWX specific cfg files for SH3 Commander R3 or greater===
"or greater" = R3.1.

Hello,
from the SH3 commander pdf:
" ...
Mod compatibility
SH3 Commander can be used with all known mods. However, some mods may require replacement of certain SH3 Commander files, and/or may recommend specific settings. Be sure to check the associated mod readme files. You do not need to have any specific mods installed to use SH3 Commander.
..."
I take it GWX2.1 with the mods that came with it, and can be enabled via mod-enabler, are not meant here.
Anyway i just tried it and it seems to work without problems, much more fun that way with the Commander!
Greetings,
Catfish
