Default [REL] D-Day Radio News

Strange things happen when I get bored. I added a specialized station to my radio folder and decided to share with the class. It starts on 06JUN1944 and goes for the entire month. The first day alone is twenty four hours of programming, so I must recommend the use of RSM 1.2 and do not use the TC feature for that day alone, I recommend doing saves between programs and then using the start up feature on RSM1.2 so you do not have to go through the previous program. My personal little way to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Credits: Digital Trucker, fred8(something), Ted Healy, the SubSim community,and UBI for making this all possible...

Installation: Not JGSME compatable, need to D/L and manually drop the file into your SH4/Data/Sound/Radio folder. Follow the instructions on the RSM1.2 readme to set up the station and away you go!

Any comments/questions/concerns, just drop a line. Will work on both 1.4 and 1.5. I like my senoritas to be like my torpedos, running hot, straight and normal......ENJOY!

I haven't downloaded the file, but it sounds like he either needs you to create your own station to play them, or didn't include an events.ini.

If ya'll can hang for a little while, I also have a nearly full 24 hours of CBS D-Day programing set. I intend to use it as a separate add-on to my KNX CBS and also the KGMB CBS stations. But I have another CBS add-on to do first, and I'm also trying to finish my current career (I'm up to September, 1944) before my copy of the U-boat Add-on comes in. So it'll likely be a few more weeks before I even start.

Sorry gents, the events. ini file is in the folder. I zipped a copy directly after I set it up with RSM1.2 and tested it. If you have RSM1.2 then it's a snap to set up plus you do not "really" have to back up the original file. That is why I strongly suggest that you D/L RSM1.2. If not you have to go into the radio folder and look for the notepad file named "radio configuration settings", open it up and go to after the last entry and cut and paste the following onto the notepad:

[CHANNEL]
Name=ERBS
Folder=D-Day Broadcasts
Freq=
Antenna=01.01.1941-01.01.2000:34.05,-118.22:100000
MusicVolumeOnNews=0.01

IMPORTANT: You need to plug in a number for the frequency (channel #) which needs to be 10 digits higher then the station before it ie, CBS 10, ERBS 20 etc. Then hit file on the top and save.

I forgot to add the manual install instructions because after the second station, no one beefed, so it slipped my slovak sodden head!

Don't know what you mean by ordinary or improved, I believe you probably have these.

In the radio folder there will be a text file that is titled "radio configuration settings" should be 1-2kb in size, when you put your cursor over it that info will pop up. Right click it and "open with" notepad. it will look similar this in the window:

If you notice each [CHANNEL] has a Name that will show up in the game as a help pop-up when you cursor over the radio knob, Folder is the actual folder name and Freq is the station #, just like in RL. What I told everyone in the cut and paste is you add your own Freq # because not everyone's radio stations are set up the same. You may have only 3 stations setup, Freq #'s 20, 30, 40. If you add a new station to this example, then the [CHANNEL] cut & paste would be go to the very last line hit your "enter" button to get to the next line without any text and right click "paste" the copied [CHANNEL] info. Then go to the line that says Freq= ,
and type "50" so it touches the = sign. Then go to the "file" top left of the window look for "save" and select.

Important: make sure each INDIVIDUAL channel has a space btween them so the game recognizes them as an individual entity.

I certainly hope you do ClayP. Just ask Digital Trucker the wonderful time I gave him trying to install and run his mod, but I did learn a great deal from it.
