Default Idea for a new mod?

Hi all,

Is this a idea for a new mod or does this already excist?

Would'nt it be nice to have a visual control when torpedo doors are open?
Maybe a small green (or red) light underneath every torpedo tube?
There is place available right underneath the torpedo-panel (where you can switch between torpedo tubes and can see wheter or not these tubes are loaded).
If such a mod does not excist, is it possible to make it or is it just to difficult?

Thanks and regards,
fvd

Actually that would be cool. Maybe not add a light but have the tube light that blinks when loading and steady when ready just change color to, say, green?

Sure AVG, anything would do as long as you can actually see if a torpedo door is open.
Can this be modded?
If so i really hope some people would get in to this.
I would be glad to help to make this if someone can set me on the right course!
Hello, anyone... ???

Regards,
fvd

I'm guessing it could be modded. Often I'm tooling along, tracking my target and forget if I opened the doors or not. The weapons officer is certainly not telling me anything.

Default same here

I also forget sometimes, just because there's nothing to remind you of it.
That's exactly how i came to this idea.
I guess you know all the good "modders" here, so maybe you can ring some bell's and pull some strings?
Please do remind them of the fact i'm willing to help (and learn in the mean while).

Good hunting,
fvd

It would be a nice and absolutely useful mod indeed.
I really hope that someone knows what and how to mod...because I have no Idea. But if anyone here knows...I'll gladly offer my help!

That weapons officer is a deaf-mute or something. Hey maybe he's using sign language.

fvd,

that is a great idea! i have to confess that i use external cam to view the tube doors if i have time (just love how they open) or when i've been plugging ships just to make sure i've not left any open... (i do often open all 6 just incase of duds) i do however use the torp selection key and open close command after an attack just to see that its either reported opening or closing in the message display.

:hmm: as visual references go might it be easier to make the actual tube indicator light up (or change colour) when the door is opened just a thought along what fvd is wondering about but as the tube indicator flashes when the tube is loading maybe this can be tied in to the door opening aswell so it stays lit...

how about just a small very narrow ring either, dark (closed) or dimly illuminated (open) around the tube indicator itself...
i could imagine this integrating nicely with SI mod.

very good idea.

Default Something like this maybe?

How 'bout something like this?

A green light for "door open" (ready to fire)
A red light for "door closed

Just an idea, plus that i don't have a clue what is more difficult to mod, a small button like the one where you can set your torpedospeed (switches from left to right angle) or a light that changes color?
