Default [REL] GWX2 - No RING RING Mod by Melendir

------------------------------------
GWX 2 - No RING RING Mod by Melendir
------------------------------------

Description:

- The purpose of this mod is to remove the loud RING RING sound at the end of engine command sound in German speech.
- Some like to keep it for reality, but in my apartment those RING RING sounds force me to play too quiet for other sounds. If I keep other sounds loud enough, then those RING RING sounds propably would drive my neighbours crazy.
- I left the "silent rig" engine command sounds as they are, since they aren't loud.
- I left the length of engine command sound as they are (if they have some synchronization function). I only muted the Ring ring -part.
- I made this JSGME compatible, so you can always go back to original GWX2 engine command sounds if you want to.

-------------
Installation:

- This is JSGME compatible, so extract files to temporary folder and move them under your SH3\MODS folder
so it would look something like this: \SH3\MODS\GWX 2 - No RING RING Mod by Melendir\
- Run JSGME and add this mod and there you go.

-------------------
Credits and thanks:

- Big thanks to Ubisoft for making Silent Hunter 3
- Big thanks to "GWX Dev Team" for making GWX 1 and GWX 2
- Big thanks to "Neal Stevens" for keeping www.subsim.com and it's forum
- Big thanks to JScones for developing the JSGME tool
- No Ring Ring engine command sounds editing by Melendir

--------------------------------------------------------------------
I tested the JSGME compability and installation and uninstallation works.

I tested the files in game and everything seems to work.

File is now hosted at Filefront
http://hosted.filefront.com/melendir/
--------------------------------------------------------------------

If you want to keep the RING RING part with lower volume, go and download Philipp_Thomsen's WhispeRING RING Mod.

Thanks for this - whilst I can use the headphones, its the volume of the telegraph bell compared to the other sounds that makes me leap a mile! Mind - if I was in a tin can with two 1500hp diesels running flat chat it would have to be loud!

Regards

Vermin

Thank you, from me and especially from my girlfriend. She has been disconnecting my speakers.

You are welcome

Inform me in this thread if you found any bugs.

I quickly tested it with one crew since it's only sound edit and didn't found bugs, but you never know...:hmm:

Good thing they didn't go so far with reality to make the two 1500hp sound as loud as real ones... I would propably be homeless

Many thanks mate!

That loud repetitive Ring Ring becomes so annoying after ten minutes of gameplay...

Especially if your wife and kid are sleeping...

Right thing - right time !

Many thanks, Melendir. The loud ring-ring annoyed me too. Good job!

Thank you for the mod. Works fine for me, I can relax a bit now when navigating and turn the gramophone on loud.

Your welcome

I too want to keep gramophone on for immersion and still retain neighbour peace without loud RING RING

Good point

That's why it is JSGME compatible... you can turn the RING RINGs back on when wife comes to home

Hi,

A good thing should be to keep the "Ring-Ring", but make it much more quiet .. Is it possible ? :hmm:

Thanks jimbuna and Marko "Sean Connery" Ramius

Yes it's possible and good idea by the way

At the moment I don't have time for doing it, but if I have time, I think I could do it.
If/when it is done. I will release it here.

It would be named to something like "GWX 2 - Quiet RING RING Mod"
