Fixed Ship Collision Damage v1.0 Test This mod changes the ship collision damage model in SH3. What it does is make U-boat compartments and equipment much more vulnerable to rammings. A direct 90 degree high speed ramming by a destroyer will probably destroy the U-boat compartment that was hit and kill everyone in that compartment, thus ending the game with the death screen. A lesser angled ramming might destroy some equipment and heavily damage the compartment. The amount of equipment and compartment damage will vary depending on the angle and force of the ramming. Almost forgot... I haven't been able to find a way to make the periscope get destroyed when it is rammed. But still working on it.

Venatore, thanks for downloading and testing!
One thing I have noticed in v1.0 is that the conning tower doesn't take much damage when rammed submerged. It seems to have it's own separate collision damage setting. I am adjusting it now and will try to have it fixed in the next version. |

Being as it's a change to the SHCollisions.act file, it will work with
all mods per say. I'm interested to see if it effects collisions of shells. Will Aircraft rounds cause more damage? What if you "bump" the dock when returning from Patrol? This is a very interesting area. ![]() |
