best bet is to download and read the manual, its pretty informative and well done. If its something that meets your fancy then you can always create a second install of SH3 and use MultiSH3 to setup seperate save game files.

I play both....love them both...but thats just me.

They're both good mods on their own right. In my opinion GWX is better but that's just me talking. My suggestion is to install both of them and see which one is better for your type of playing. If you need to know how to do multiple installations check out this http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...22&postcount=3 and this http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...28&postcount=2

Is it true that GWX looks better than NYGM?

Depends on who you ask. That's about like asking if a Chrysler or a Chevy is the better car. If you ask a Chevy dealer: guess what he'll tell you

I definitely can't answer that since I've been a addict since Rubini started the Harbor Traffic (HT) mod and all through GW and now GWX and never even tried NYGM.

I just discovered the Sub Sims early this year and at first I was an event camera addict. After a while I found it more of a realistic challenge to just turn it off. At that point the eye candy is not as important. Your submerged during the day, surfaced at night. You get the picture.

I find both mods are fine visually, GWX does have more to look at graphically. Enjoy and welcome to a very addictive hobby.

Oh and I highly recommend the mod by onelifecrisis, [REL] OLC GUI v1.1.3 here is the link; http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=124639

These are the actual tools used by the U-boot crews to prosecute a target. Excellent mod and makes the experience highly intuitive, I really enjoy it. Oh and it works with GWX!

The thing I like about NYGM.....is they use "How many days" to add equipment to your sub when you were in Harbor. It doesn't use "Renown"....sooo if you want to stay in harbor an extra month to get that Disel Upgrade....you can...But do you dare????????

Give both a try and decide for yourself.

As stated earlier, you'll get a loaded answer depending on the user of which mod you ask.

AFAIK NYGM is not supported now with regards to technical questions :hmm:

I've tried both, and whilst being impressed with both I think you can imagine which one I personally prefer

Whilst GWX uses renown, it also adds days to your time in port

Mood swings can often be a positive thing
