Default XPlay SH4 review

SH4 review by those two at Xplay
Fair review, full of the usual ADD humor, and as Adam says, it's a good sim and hardened subsim players will love it but it is too full of bugs for them to enjoy it. Unfortunate that Ubisoft released the game 3 months early when it was still prone to crashing. Probably cost them a huge number of sales

Well, SH3 has more than 2 years of post-release mods and patches. Let's see what SH4 looks like at the same point in the product cycle.

Actually fired up Sh3 the other day (was looking for some mod related stuff) IT LOOKS OLD NOW!...plays dam good but... with GWX, but looks dated in comparison. I think SH4 will catch up game play wise sooner then later. Anyhow both are darn good sims no matter what one thinks about the visual stuff.

I like how they add humor to it even making fun of the crashes. I still find it fun and spend alot of time in it.

Haw haw! Whoever the chick was that introduced the review seemed totally enthused about the game.

Nice review. Somehow they managed to bring the bad news with a lot of humor. I like that very much.

Funny but unfair - I played ever since release and tons of hours, i never had one singel crash to desktop. I bet this guy played version 1.1 and keept hitting the "A" key. Its not objective at all, and poor game testing indicates the lack of interest in the game.

The intro is very tedious, patroniseing the WWII games, they are bestsellers and by doing that she insults million's of players.

With a bit of mod's installed, is it as good as SH3 and on some points a lot better.

I don't look at these "reviews" as anything more than the views of a twitchy "shoot everything that moves" type of gamer. They obviously aren't really big on simulations or submarines, so asking them to review SH4 is like asking me to review a book on the mating habits of the reef lobster. Take them for what they're worth, and consider the source.

The only thing I can't fathom is why the Devs / Ubi have not confirmed or denied whether or not the will be a 1.3 patch. Either they are working on a patch and a simple affirmation would go a long ways to calming people down or they have decided that its not going to happen and they can take the heat now and get it over with.

If I remember correctly they gave Sh3 a 5/5 and intermixed the review with pics of Adam getting boned up the rear by Sean Connery as the skipper from Red October.

Irreverence is their forte. And, no, they don't only review or give good scores to FPSs.
