Default Future?

Sure this has been discussed but I've been away from subsim for a bit, just returned recently.

Any word on future of Silent Hunter series? Will there be a SH 6? I'd personally like to see an indepth, bug free(much as possible), well researched and accurate depiction of Cold War submarine warfare. Of course some license would have to be taken with the action, so get to battle but it would be ifne.

I had hoped SH 5 would be a return to fleet boats to make up for the debacle of SH 4 (thankful for mods that saved it) and I still just don't enjoy SH 5 , havent found mods that take the gamey feel away from it.While I'd love SH 6 to give the PTO and Us fleetboats the treatment it deserves(accurate, detailed, full interiors of the subs) proper campaign etc. I can see how a leap to cold war era would be a great change.

Sorry, couldn't pass that up...

I have issues - still - getting up and down the ladders in SH5 - - I am a klutz in real life too... I do think though, that if Ubisoft was gonig to continue the line, they would have already done so. Maybe they just need a team to come along with a speal of a presentation of an almost fully developed version of the best of a Silent Hunter 3 / 4 / 5 combination, with multiple mods ready to go, to show that it can do from 1901, through 2021 as a SubSim of all SubSims... King of the World, if you will, and that they could charge $60 a pop (what's that? you say they charge $80 US for games now???!!!??!! ), just so long as it doesn't need a patch right out of the gate, just so it can run and / or allow the player to complete a mission... I wonder if Disney is interested in a "Series" that would play in the theatres?...

At this point I want Ubi to stay far, FAR away from the franchise now. Ubi listens to player feedback, but it's usually the wrong feedback, that's how we got the broken S boats in SH4. That's also why the franchise caters more to the uboats than the fleet boats, I mean they couldn't even leave 4 strictly fleet boats. As far as Cold War subsims go, I'd look into Cold Waters. I'm following it and it looks like the best bet for what we want.

Cold Waters looks great, hope it turns out to be just that.
