Definitely 7600GS,has 512MB which helps in texture - size demanding games.Might help in SH3 with all applied texture mods and anyway - Radeon 9250 is old and slow,7600GS has more modern architecture which you'll appreciate not only in SH3.

LOL the 7600 without a doubt I got a 7600GT and was upgrading of a 9600XT there is an extreme visible difference in some games in one I managed to set High all gfx instead of Low all in my 9600XT and the 7600GT still outperformed in FPS 4 fold. Without a doubt the 7600.

Oh and if you can get a 7600GT go for that the 7600GS has 512mb of memory but can't use it all so its useless its more of a show offish kinda thing which doesn't really work. The 7600GT has higher clockspeeds and outperforms it quite visibly. Its also about $20 or so dollars more expensive.

Oh and may I suggest you use newegg for any PC parts probably the best site on the net you will definately find a better deal. Also check your mobo to see what cards it takes if its an AGP mobo your best bet around that price would be the 7600GS AGP version hopefully your PCI-E X16 in which case its up to date and takes pretty much all modern cards. And may god be merciful on your soul if its a PCI-E X8

I got the 7600, never had a problem with it. Got it relatively cheap too.

PCI-Express cards will not fit in PCI slots. Totally different things. If you are stuck with 'regular' PCI, the best card ever released for that format was the VisionTek Radeon X1300 PCI. If you want the fastest PCI nVidia card, the best option is the 3dFuzion GeForce 6200 PCI. But either way, you pay through the nose for such a 'modern' GPU running through such an ancient interface. |

When buying hardware you should consider software first, always!
nVidia has the upper hand over ATI in that regard, since most of today's top games are designed with the nVidia card in mind (remember the advertisement: "The way it's meant to be played") Now, in regard to SH3, please kind in mind that no matter what card you have, even on a super ninja computer, you'll still get poor performance from time to time... it's just wasn't written robustly enough to avoid those strange hickups when in high performance demand situations, even if you're computer can run it blazingly fast on all other situations (Specialy if you mod it) |
