Default Problems and Features

I just downloaded and installed v0.60. Did not start with a clean SH4 install, only using JSGME to unload v0.56 and then deleted the SH4 .cfg file from My Documents. Should have been ready to go.

Installed v0.60 via JSGME, ran game one time to set preferences, then reloaded game and started a new career. Picked a new career out of Cavite/Manila on USS Salmon (SS-182). First patrol was to deliver cargo to Formosa. Trip was uneventful, cargo delivered and with no new assignment headed back to Manila. Enroute noticed the following plus points:
+ Sailors are no longer semi-transparent and have eyes
+ Love the diesel engine sounds
+ The flickering lights on the control panel, sort of like an old IBM 360, are cool.
+Battery recharge times are much better and to my mind realistic and consistent with what I saw in GWX3.

On the negative side there are some serious visual issues:
- All dials in Control Room are blank
- Smoke and flames from explosions are blocky and unrealistic, although the colors are great
- All troop carriers, regardless of whose flag they fly under, are black. Warships are fine
- The gun barrels on an IJN DD wasn't able to get the type -see below) were rusty, as were the outside barrels on their torpedo launchers. Was this an attempt to highlight?
- Had a CTD when paging through the recognition manual trying to find the DD. Game was PAUSED as I had the DD in profile and manual open!
- Sound issue: No sounds associated with going to Battle Stations or with raising or lowering the periscope.

I'm going to not attempt a further mission or restart my patrol from a saved file until you get a chance to address this. Other than that, visuals are crisp and clean. I love the feel of it!

Pictures to follow if I can do the attachments properly - first have to convert them to .jpg.

I make new install of Sh4 (multiSH4)
Enable with jsgme... And no have your problem ....maybe need clean install

This is most likely the BB Kongo. Any sort of "looking" at the vessel will CTD the game...
- Sound issue: No sounds associated with going to Battle Stations or with raising or lowering the periscope.
I am having similar, though I do get the "Battle stations, battle stations, all crew man your battle stations!", and the gong... I'm missing some "dialog" from the crew. We'll have to look into that.

Most of the rest of what you mention doesn't sound like what I have in my version... You mention "... or restart my patrol from a saved file..." and that may well be the issue. This version of Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate has Type= changes in the vessels. Old saves cannot be used. You probably have a "cross-contamination" now. Nothing from the old version can be used. Delete your Save folder in its entirety, and try again. I don't think you'll have to re-install though... sorry though, it's the nature of the beast..

The BBKongo fix should be out very shortly. I just looked in the folder we use as a group, and RR has the fix out of there, and incorporating it now, so soup is on simmer, should be finished shortly...

The C1 and 2 are the same boats, with slightly different attributes, and both are based on the KD6...

The "spacing" between the gun and the conn seems a bit big, but not to the point that the conn moving forward would completely cover that hole (it looks to be a bit far back)... is the gun in the correct position?...
