One of my favorites too. I saw the remake, which was my introduction to Viggo Mortensen, and I had to ask myself what the point was. Then I realize that was the point - there was none. They gave the remake a point, a cause. The orignal was all about pointlessness, and a point was the last thing it needed.

Same for Gone In 60 Seconds. The remake was a much better movie technically, but it also destroyed the meaning of the story.

And to be honest, that guy is one of my most favorite actors. I have yet to watch a movie with him and think bad about it. He got a bad "teenie-star" stamp on himself after Romeo and Juliet and Titanic (the later one being a very good movie, no other way to put it, sorry) but due to brilliant roles before and after those flicks, he SO earned my respect.

He could play the Tooth Fairy. I'd buy it.

I have to agree. I own a copy, mostly for the historical parts. My biggest complaint is that there were so many good real stories to be told that I didn't see why they had to waste time on a fictional one.

As for diCaprio, I agree - he is an outstanding actor.

Decided to watch the other Monty Python movies.

Life of Brian is first....I love it.

"We are the People's Front of Judea"

"Where is the Popular People's Front of Judea?"

"Ah...he's over there"

Haha.

The Meaning of Life...I will hopefully be able to fit it in tomorrow. Life of Brian was great. I would've watched it all and been done with it hours ago but then some strange air activity interrupted me.

Several military helicopters flew around with all kind of lights on and they quit around 2200....but a jet made slow circles for another good hour.

Odd.

The Meaning of Life was honestly disappointing.

Monty Python can do better.

Yea that one was not as good as the two before it, apart from one wafer thin mint.

I would agree. I also think that Life of Brian is often overrated. It has its funny parts.

I do like John Cleese though. That guy....Michael Palin and Graham Chapman are the best.

I'll watch just about anything with Monty Python guys in it.

About halfway through the remake of Carrie.

I can sympathize with Carrie in this movie...not like...a lot...but a little.

It's pretty sad...

Watching Batman: Under the Red Hood.

Man, Jason Todd really likes being beaten to near death with a crowbar by psychotic clowns in foreign countries, doesn't he?

Now that I've actually finished Carrie...I want to watch the old one.

This whole storyline depresses me...because kids are treated like this every day and every one of them has a breaking point. I know cause I been there...never snapped but I know that feel.

I recommend watching it and then finding that lonely outcast person in your life/place of work/school and just talking to them...You'll make their day.

Or they'll murder you. Somewhat depends on the person some people you just do not bother. Then some people you talk to them and they talk talk talk and just wish that they would shut up.

Some people are outcasts for a reason I have found.Either they are socially awkward in which case I agree with your opinion. If they are outcast for any other reason something is not right.

Here is the trick that no one your age will tell you: everyone feels socially awkward at that age (high school) they just do not want to admit it for fear of losing any social status they may have.
