Your crew is a bunch of highly trained professionals, and it is difficult to emulate their acumen... ahem - but what you can do is as soon as they report a ship, go to the NavMap and track it. Mark where it is. Click on the icon for the ship itself, and see what the game says about the contact. If it says it's coming "Very Fast" and at you, you would be advised to crash dive, since that would be an airplane. If you are wanting to ignore contacts, that is your prerogative. Just mark where they are and get a direction, then avoid them. Give the DD-type vessels a wide berth. If you are referring to contacts that are nowhere near your sub, those could be thought of as "Ultra" reports, and if they aren't close, no need to go looking for trouble and wasting precious fuel oil...
