DC water disturbance mod?
Does anyone have a link for the depth charge water disturbance mod released for SH4? Essentially it simulates the IRL effect whereby depth charge explosions seriously affected active sonar conditions for a period of time, allowing a sub a window of escape. I can find the fix to make it work with TMO 2.5 (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=3839) and the one for SH5, but not the SH4 version. Searched all over but found nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

I thought this mod had an issue of causing game crashes?

It would cause crashes if you were using TMO without RSRDC. Someone figured out what was happening and created a fix. I've never had a problem if I was using TMO+RSRDC or TMO+fix.

Bit of a late reply and possibly redundant, but I use it with OM/OMEGU and it doesn't give me any problems

Digging this out because I want to use it with TMOWTW 2.5
Is this mod still up to date, and do I have to add the patch fix for TMO alone (to avoid game crash) I find it strange that the mod don’t overwrite any TMO file, and the patch fix don’t overwrite the DC water disturbance mod… in jsgme. Thanks for reply

I ~think~ wTw adds the TMO patch in, and that you don't need it... but I'm not certain... aanker would know fershure fersertinn... I'm not sure, but it seems to me that you need the regular TDW_DC_Water_Disturbance mod, plus the "fix" if using TMO, but with TMO / RSRDC, you only need the base mod itself... it's been a while since I used it myself... seems to my memory that TDW had stated in his thread that the game loads all of the files in the Library folder, so you don't need to have the DAT file tied to anything in particular, hence no overwrites, but in that case, I'm not certain how the "fix" works, unless it just replaces the base mod's DAT... wow, I'm just full of ambiguity today...

Ok, i will see further in my campaign if there is any crash…
I have enabled TDW DC Water disturbance mod last on TMOWTW 2.5, and I made a mod of the patch fix file enabled on top of all. Crash to desktop may happen when ennemy planes drop bombs, to what I have read… Thanks for your quick reply anyway

Yeah, sorry for not having much of a memory anymore... but experimentation is best anyway... except the kind my mom didn't like me to do years ago, which is probably why my memory ain't so good anymore...

So it seems that I don’t have crash to desk top when planes drop bombs… that’s good for now… have to see now if the water disturbance is working good with destroyers depth charges… next time I will close a convoy

I'd make a test SingleMission with you and a DD, and surface in front of the DD. Let him pound you with all the Depth Charges he wants to. You'll find out soon enough...

The DC shake mod didn't work well (would crash the game) back in 2007/8 before S3D was developed; back in the Mini-Tweaker modding tool days. Installed correctly on a computer with adequate resources and using LAA configured correctly, it should shake just fine. I think most of the crashes were on computers/laptops with small or no graphic cards that couldn't handle the mod's demands. SH4 is a 1024x768 game that people install on much higher end computers today. It works for some and not for others as propbeanie was trying to say - lol I don't use it because it conflicts with some other adjustment or mod in my installation. Happy Hunting!
