If you fellows that tweak those parameters would then, let us know if you find any anomalies while using that, such as a distorted view elsewhere in the room. It might be set that way to simulate forward motion. Let us know what you find though.

Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since I last reported in, so I thought it was time for an update. I was running the FOTRS_Ultimate_ v.0.40_EN until recently, I installed FOTRS_Ultimate_v.0.52_PublicBeta_EN. I did this while I was in my home port of Midway. Started a new patrol, no problems encountered with the switch in mods. I didn't install LAA or MultiSH4 because I didn't think it was help me with my computer. But I constantly monitor my FPS when in game. The mission I was in while returning to Midway, I noticed my FPS was around 10-12 while on the Navigation screen (normally it has been at 75 while on this screen) while at a higher time compression, can't remember what the exact number was, but I know that it is with my computer. Most of the time, I can be at 8100's TC with no problems while travelling to and from my patrol areas. After installing v. 0.52, I perform some maintenance on my old system and this morning it was running back to standards. I'm currently of the coast of Japan tracking a 'Large Task Force.' End of message, back below the thermal layer.

How close to Midway were you when the big slow down happened? Do you think you were within air radar range, and encountered the base's CAP? Maybe at the same time, there was a surface vessel or two on radar? If you weren't anywhere near any other air or sea traffic, can you do us a favor, and start another "new" career - different name of course so that you don't overwrite what you have - and see if your computer performs better? thanks.

Along time ago and not too long after SH4 came out problems developed with the game because of the base traffic. You would be returning to base and just as you got close to base you would CTD because of the traffic overwhelming the game engine.

Hey Guys,
I wasn't close to Midway when this happen, several days in fact. When I get close to Midway, I know that 'traffic' will cause my computer to really slow down. So when I get within 500 NM, I start reducing my TC down to 512 or something lower. I have always slow down when entering my home port with any mod I had. I will record and report anything like that in the future. The big slow down was with version 0.40, which I convert to V. 0.52 last night after reaching home port. Sorry, don't remember where it happen or the dates. I thought maybe I reaching the capabilities of my rig. I defrag my hard drive after adding the latest version, hoping that help. Today I've had no problems so far. i will be glad to start another career if you need me to and try to get in the same area and dates if possible.

I have always slow down in TC and submarine speed when approaching my home port because of this reason. So now it has become a habit so that I don't crash.

I've had another incident of mass spawning, only this time instead of the the Akitsuki as the main culprit it was the Shimakaze.

First, location, time and date. Note the A5 in lower right hand corner. Date was August 31, 1944. Time was 07:41

And some pics of all the pretty destroyers.

Currently running a patrol, in a Tambor, Jan 42, no ill effects from the camera value change.

If it is that way deliberately to sim forward motion, then I am glad I now know how to zero the change back. It does not look right, at all. Especially when traveling 1 knot, submerged.

Wow! Those shots make me feel a lot better about deciding to do this mod! We're down from hundreds spawning to a dozen or so. Wonder if our harbor effects and DD spawns have a commonality. The harbors look like a scenario is running twice at the same time. You have to admit that those destroyers look magnificent. As long as they keep their distance.....

I do know that I haven't seen anything like the harbor situations outside this mod. Maybe I'll load up FOTRS 1.3 and see what goes there! It would be REALLY instructive if someone with SH4v1.4 could load up FOTRS 4.0 and check out a few harbors for us.

by the way you wrote, I didn't really think you were, but wanted to make sure. You probably encountered something like cdrsubron7 is showing in his pictures just below your post there. You might not have been close enough to have gotten a sensor report or see it, but the game decided you were close enough, so it tried to "draw" the scene. If you would, next let us know where you are and the date / time if you can, when you get a big slow down like that. It usually means there's a LOT of something near to you...

... even more destroyers milling about ...

... entirely too many destroyers milling about...
I do not see an "A5" in the lower right of your first picture there cdrsubron7, but I'm guessing you mean your location is there?

I've got that right here, but if someone else would check things at like Pearl Harbor (especially) for ships running into each other, backing up for miles, etc...

I tried to re-do Pearl a bit RR, and have had some success, but all the "fancy" stuff they have of the ships coming in and docking is most likely going to have to be left out. The collision avoidance is really putting a binder on any of that happening even close to the way they are attempting to route them. Even very careful edits, and they do strange things. The ships end up in all sorts of very unrealistic situations, sometimes with lots of crashing and banging with smoke, fire and explosions. Very cool, if there wasn't supposed to be a ~WAR~ going on out there...

We will do. I just thought it was my rig, because it lasted, the slow down for several hours and didn't want to push it pass the limits.

That does sound more like your computer then, else you would have seen something in that amount of time... maybe... I'm running into some ~strange~ stuff today...
