Grapnels.
Revells grapnels were so crude, it left me with no option, but to scratch new ones.

Hi Siara She is a beaut. When you get her finished were going to need a " Honey I Shrunk the Kids " machine so we all can take her for a spin.

Thanks for good words!

I made the stern light.
I didnt put the bulb in, because the frontline U-Boats had them removed.

Im glad you like it. Im happy the way it turned out.

Taday i completed the SG, part that was on my mind for months. I was thinking how can i strengthen the joint of the support arms.
And i have found the way.
First i have produced the 4 supports from thin brass sheet. 0,5mm copper wire was soldered to underside of each support. Boats hull was drilled in the right places.
Then i simply inserted the wires into the holes using CA glue.

Hinges on the hatches. As the hinge i used the stretched sprue, blobed at both ends with hot knife:

Bow details:

Some hatches, and steel plates were added to the sides:

Thats great honour Neal. Im not being used to the limelight. Its nice to know people enjoy my build, as it is only the hobby for me, the hobby im passionate about.

This morning- before i have gone to work i made 6 brackets for the stern jump wires support.
Revells part is just plain three leged lump of plastic, and i decided to pimp it up a little- doing it the way i have made the net cutter supports.

Man, it might have started as a hobby, but seeing how it turns out it might as well end up being a religion, or at last a science

I wish the U-995 in Laboe looked as real as this one

Seriously, I'm at a loss for words to praise your amazing work. If you ever decided to also build on it one of the several interior kits available....wow....that would be the holy grial of sub modelling

Don't know about you but I would've just started with a bigger model

Amazing work mate, amazing. And I can understand the passion, I once spent months on Nigel Mansells Ferrari, I was very pleased with the result. But what you're doing just makes my attempt look like a couple of toilet roles and a box.
