Can you stop the mouse-activated map movement?
I seem to recall from a few years back that someone posted a fix to prevent the map from scrolling when the mouse pointer is moved to any edge. It drives me nuts when I'm trying to zero in on an area, or watch a sonar line to get a fix, only to have the map suddenly scroll to the Arctic because I forgot to park the cursor away from the edge.
Can anyone recall how to stop the scrolling from the cursor placement? You might add a year to my life by eliminating that particular aggravation! Thanks!

That's a great idea. I'll get the FOTRS Ultimate team on it!

Are you perchance thinking of a "script" file in SHIII??? Some one of the other mods may have done it in SH4, I dunno, but I do remember that in SHIII... sort-of... maybe... oldmanitis. It's a terrible thing. Don't share it!

Change the value in Scroll left, scroll right, scroll bottom, scroll top maybe?

I think that must be it. I played SHIII for years (GWX), but changed to SH4 quite some time ago because I preferred playing the US side. I also encountered CTDs in the later parts of the GWX campaigns. I think that was before I became aware of the 4Gb patch, though. Might have to go back and try again in my copious free time! Oldmanitis is more common than...what did you say?

Good find fithah4. Unfortunately, the game "hangs" just before the menu screen when trying to run with the mod enabled after FotRSU, so there'll be some re-working required, most likely. The menu file gets over-written by the FotRSUbeta, which eliminates the mod when JSGME is used with the other order of enabling.
For the experts of modding: The error message says something about file not found "/data/menu/gui/layout/crewsystemsmanagement.tga". I've been through my v1.4 & v1.5 stock installs, and all the other versions of GFO+, TMO, FotRS (all versions), and I've not found the file either. The closest thing there is "crewsystemsmanagement.dds", not tga. The mod file itself is found in the Download section, under SH4, on Page 11, number 12 of 25, so just above the 1/2 way mark on the page... Last edited by propbeanie; 07-25-16 at 08:51 AM. If/when this happens to me, the easy way back is the key combination to Center Map On Submarine. F1 for Help in-game has this listed in my Help.cfg file as:
Ctrl+Left Click Center map on player submarine I don't know for sure but I believe every Mod still has this Stock command.

That's exactly what to do.. works as designed.
I just now tried it for the first time. Amazing how we never read all through the help notes. |
