you did great right up to the point of firing. turn off the PK before your last bearing/distance/AOB check and then fire. if you have done everything correctly to that point you should get a hit. question: with the target zig-zagging, why not set the Mk14 to high speed?

Can you explain the reason for needing to turn off the PK? That seems counter-intuitive to me. Thanks! ESPY |

The PK is "Position Keeper", so it remembers your first shot done with it set to "on"... turn it off, and then back on for the next shot, so that it updates the angles.

Ok, but this was my first shot with the PK. Missed part of a a non-PK shot, re-engaged attempting a PK shot…

I should have said "bearing / range measurement... If you do not "Lock" on the target, and turn on PK, the PK will remember the last set of data input to it. You move the scope, but the angles don't change. If you don't engage the PK, the angles will change when you move the scope... if you do engage the PK, you could move your scope for your next measurement, turn the PK off, then turn it back on and it would update the angles, but you have to shoot when you turn on the PK in that situation, else don't turn it back on, or you'll have that set of bearing stuck in the TDC... I said that in about twice (at least) the words needed... sigh - sorry.

In this attempt I was locked on the target and was sending range and bearing from sonar while PK was ON. Do I have to turn off the PK to send updates to it? |
