Default TACTICAL INTELLIGENCE Gameplay info

There are a few threads but not enough about what we run into out there. Real Kaleuns would eagerly pour over patrol reports and discuss where they ran into rich targets or lots of enemy units.

For instance: Med campaign, Sept 1942, I ran into multiple enemy task forces and took damage between the coast of Spain and Balauren Island. Avoid.

This kind of advice is helpful because every player sailing in those waters at that time would find the same.

Default No repairs done in REFIT

Be advised that coming to port with damage and choosing REFIT will not do any repairs. All you get is a load of fuel and torpedoes.

Default Change of base alert.

For the Happy Times campaign you are reassigned to Lorient but do not start out from that port. Do not use Trevally's harbor script for Lorient !!

I started in Bremen and thought I was in Lorient = collision with seawall.

Injured crew will not be healed when you Refit.

Damaged sub systems under repair, or your damaged hull, will not be repaired when you Refit.

Nor can you chose the torpedo types you want to have.. same as in SH3.

Default Real Navigation Warning

If you are using Darkwraith's UIC and the Real Navigation scripts, know this:

After returning to port and/or when switching to a different career, change to a new log book. The reason is that your old position marks are kept and your new patrol or other career will zoom to the last position. (of the previous log recording)

If you name your careers and your saved games in a continuous fashion, this can screw up your next patrol. For instance, I have a career named Second and the saved games are all called second. (of four) When the Second boat returned to port and was leaving on a new patrol, it zoomed across England to a position near Scotland. The boat was still at Kiel, but the Navigator thought we were at the last Nav position of the previous patrol.

Be aware that refuels are available from two ports in the southern Caribbean, but these ports are guarded by American destroyers.

Time period? Could this be when the US is neutral? Any mod involved?
