Sorry I could not resist. I think Argo is easily his best film. The only other movies that Affleck is in that I really like are Good Will Hunting and The Town.
I'm not even going there on Pearl Harbor...

And I've seen a little bit of The Town...I want to see the rest and I haven't seen Good Will Hunting...

Ben Affleck is actually in my area (within 30 minutes). They're filming Gone Girl 30 minutes away from my house.

Ben, Tyler Perry, Rosamund Pike...and that guy from How I Met Your Mother I do believe...

Affleck and Damon got an Academy Award for best writing for Good Will Hunting.Which shows that Affleck is a better writer/director than he is an actor to some extent.Of course I think it implies that he can act well when directed well.

Good Will Hunting
is a really good movie The Town is good but not in a make you think kind of way it is just a good action/bank robbery film.

Captain Phillips.

11/10

I loved it. Very good overall.

If Tom Hanks doesn't get an Oscar for that...I'll be surprised.

Yes and if they knew that that film scene was going to be used for anything... I wonder if someone did use the scene for a critic to that same movie

But the movie is very good!

The first time always takes it out of you. You'll settle down once you watch it 3-4 more times.

True but different. Get the original All Quiet on the Western Front if you can find it and you'll start to really see the power of cinema.

There's a copy in my house. I've read the book. The ending bought tears to my eyes.

As it should. Anyone not moved by the final scenes of that book or movie has no emotions.

Almost forgot... I also saw a Canadian mini-series called Hitler: The Rise of Evil on YouTube yesterday.

A bit fictionalised, but still pretty interesting.

If Downfall struck you, which I can understand, be sure to watch Schindler's List if you haven't already (I'm surprised how many people never saw it tbh). Back in the mid 90's when it was in the cinemas, people left it crying like babies at the end.

Remarkable performances by all actors involved and the movie does clearly show how it must have been back then... Not for the faint of heart, yet a must-see.
