The Real Bubbleheads of Subsim!
Seems we have quite a few lurking around the site here. So the thought came to me, how about one of those avatar thingys for under their profile pic? I've got the silver dolphins in my sig that could be scaled down that would work, or at least be a starting point. Would have to vet these guys somehow though. Don't want any NUBs claiming the title! Thoughts?

Sounds like a great idea! It's the least you real submariners deserve

Great idea, I would be glad to help. I nominate you in charge of vetting, and designing the badge. You may want to devise a procedure and application I can post in here. When you are set, I can add the level and award it to those who deserve it. What do you say? Ideally, it would be a submarine-oriented badge for all types and navies, otherwise we'll have DBF, nukes, coners, boomers, Perishers, etc etc etc.
And if someone wants to do likewise for surface vessels, I can accommodate that as well.

I accept the nomination. Are there any requirements as far as file type and size that would work best? Or that I should keep it under for size?

Wow, that looks really good!
Size is the issue here, I have to squeeze down the awards and badges until they are almost impossible to see, otherwise guys with a lot of them have massive post frames. Let's try it at the size you posted it, since there will not likely be a huge number of people displaying it, it should be ok.

Tell you what, can you remake it with the top banner the same shade as the bottom banner, so that SUBMARINE is a little more visible?

That first one I was lucky to find on the internet already. I thought about altering it but decided another more simple approach was needed. I didn't want anyone feeling left out or unrecognized so I started over, scrapping the US and UK insignia.
