Default Ahoy subsimmers

Thought i write a little bit about myself and my motives for finally registering on the forums so bare with me..

I'm a virtual aviator [flight simmer, wanna be pilot, however you wanna call it as long as you don't tell me i 'play' flight simulator xD] that occasionally likes to dive into the deep blue, specially since my aircraft's flight console broke down on me a while back.

Been keeping myself busy with some SH4 U-Boot Missions, mainly unmodded besides the German [Das Boot movie style] language pack and a radio mod.

I use to play [or do you say 'sim' as well? don't wanna hurt anybody's feelings lol] almost full real, just allowed external cam, action cam for the 'eye candy' [if you can call it like that on my old computer] and map updates [as i THINK i need them]..

Never bothered to register here on the forums as i was totally happy with the info i could get here without being a registered user. I surely wanna thank you all for that.

Another thing that i never bothered about was SH5, out of various reasons, mainly being my cpu barely touching the minimum requirements, and that i read a lot of "not so positive" stuff about it.

Well, that was until yesterday evening when my brother walked up to me like "Hey, look what i bought for you" - handing me a gold edition of SH5.
So i installed... i disabled all gfx effects and switched the resolution to 1280*720.. and well, it runs.. it's not completely fluid but tbh SH4 is no different here.
I started playing / simming... well, playing in that case.. and i was about to just leave it alone and go back to SH4 leaving my brother disappointed. Yet, i have seen some potential in the product [like walking freely around the boat and having some rpg type elements].. then i did some research and figured i should feel more at home after the tutorial is finished, being able to visit crew/torpedo management etc etc.

Well, i guess i'll give SH5 a serious shot... but not without mods / bug fixes..
Judging by the bugfix list in your forums [beginners guide to modding] there is quite a lot to fix anyway and i will start with applying those fixes [jsgme is not new to me at least]..

I would definitely appreciate some input and recommendations here, specially since i read controversial stuff about the stadimeter [some say it gives wrong readouts, some say it works just fine] and i recollect not being able to see a "torpedo depth fix" [i read they run ca 1 meter below setting?]. I also read something about a mod/fix that changes the dimensions/size of the objects in the sim, automatically leading me to wonder if this might be needed to fix a possibly broken stadimeter?

Anyways, i guess that's enough questions for now, specially since the purpose of this post wasn't even to ask questions but just to introduce myself and thank you for helping me out quite some times without even knowing!

lol as you might have noticed, i'm a man of very few words, and the 'biography' box is so huge.. but time is a crucial factor so i thought CnP the "hey thats me" thread is a great temporary solution... figured it's not lol

Short simming Bio:
flightsims:
FSX for some years, mainly A2A Simulation Accusim aircrafts and later on VRS Superhornet
Some IL2 1946, Some Falcon BMS...

subsims:
SH4
currently trying to figure why i miss every torpedo shot on moving targets after modding with the "generic file patcher" in SH5..

that's all for now...
