While I think that Stalingrad is a masterpiece, I've never liked Cross of Iron due to bizarre moments and the gay theme.

That's pretty annoying.

And disrespectful...

I would say that it is dishonest. You never know if a military claim is true unless you see the persons records their discharge papers will tell what specialty(s) they where and also where they served and the medals they where awarded. Most people do not see that data.Even members of our legislative branch have been caught making incorrect claims such as being a Vietnam vet when in fact they served during the time period of Vietnam but in Vietnam or the associated zones.

We hired this young guy that just got out of the Marines a few months back and that was his most recent job so I know he was what he claimed by seeing his DD-214.All though we did not hire him simply because he was in the military that would be unfair and not everyone that is former military is a good employee or will be.He was the best and most enthusiastic person we interviewed he also had good understanding of what we do.He lucked out I would say not very many good jobs in these parts.

Anyway movies....

A film I have always liked is Blade Runner.I have gotten into many discussions as to whether or not Deckhard was a replicant.I think he was and that is why Roy Batty spared his life.

I assume you mean the last part about the members of the legislature being dishonest. If you disagree with the other part about a vet not by default being the ideal person I would say that you are a bit naive. What happens when you interview two vets but you only have one job? Vets get priority with the Postal Service and any GS position not withstanding credible experience and education if it is required.

That is not a misspelling on that poster Tokio is another way to spell Tokyo in a non English speaking language it is not commonly used anymore though. Bestemming is dutch for destination it is a Dutch movie poster.

Ah...sorry. Should've clarified.

I hate the lying politicians and the fake veterans.

Figured it was something like that.

Saw the swedish (original) version of "Let the right one in". Very much liked it.

And a warning: The US version sucks big time, so dont watch that.

"Fatso" was quite good too.

There is a american remake of Let The Right One In? I saw the film and liked also, but didn't know about a US version!

Cross of Iron is a great movie!

The instant you see a woman bathing in a barrel you better switch it off because your mom would go crazy if she happened to be in the same room

Yes, "Let me in", but it's pretty terrible judging by the 15-20 minutes I watched it.

Don't know why this movie suddenly popped into
my head, especially considering that I haven't seen
it since I was in my teens. Still, I remember the
storyline and the fact that I enjoyed it, despite it's age.

Anyone here a fan of the 1948 movie "Against the Wind"?

Sometimes I think I am the only person who has even seen it.
