Default Now That I have the Basics, Which Mega-Mod?

I have the basics of the game pretty much down, and I'm looking to add some user-made content. I've tried Run Silent Run Deep, and I like the changes it makes to the campaign by getting rid of the delivery missions and such, but it makes it so that targets are only in pretty specific locations. With that said, would getting TMO or RFB be better than RSRD? With all the broken links around here, I'm having trouble finding a solid overview of what each mod does.

If you like the stock game's campaign, then Webster's Game Fixes Only (GFO) just can't be beat. You can use a couple of his other mods to "customize" several aspects of game play, if you desire. When you go to the download page here at SubSim, just search on "Webster", and you'll find more. Just be sure and read the ReadMe files in GFO.

That said, TMO 2.5 is really fun, although it is difficult. Ducimus made it such that it's more difficult to "cheat" at certain aspects of the game. His campaign is somewhere between Stock and RSRDC, but more towards stock. Become a SubSim contributor, and you can download TMOwTw, which is a take on TMO, but with some aspects "turned down" toward the easier side. You can always combine RSRDC with TMO, which makes for a different mod altogether, and then you have things like Bleiente's mix Ralle's Mod Soup, which is his "mix" of TMO and RSRDC. Traveller's Mod is similar. Bubblehead1980 is working on a similar project right now also. Then there's the German side with Operation Monsun, and the Japanese mod Climb Mount Niitaka that we hope to do a beta on shortly... All kinds of stuff.

Then there is my favorite, Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate, which is in "beta" stage right now, nearing regular release. It is based on an older version of TMO. We're having a LOT of fun tweaking it. I almost told you to click on the picture in my sig, then I remembered that I had to remove the link due to size restrictions... so http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=226270 is the place to go.

I'm forgetting several good mods... Anyway, I use several installs of the game, and MultiSH4 http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1110, which is in the downloads section also, and of course, JSGME http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=204594, which helps get those mods activated. (Traveller has a "tools" link in the 2nd post.) Lots of mods, lots of reading. Should keep you busy for a good while...

Oh! Welcome to SubSim!
