Ahoy squids. Ex-Army here but still love the sub sims...

New laptop for Christmas

I was struggling to get SH4 running again on the new box. Thanks to this forum, and a few other threads, looks like its now working well...

Even have some noob mods working to boot!

Eluktronics Pro-X P650HS-G
Intel i7-7700HQ Quad Core
Windows 10 Home
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
1TB SSD
32GB DDR4 RAM
Large Address Aware 2.0.4.0
Silent Hunter IV 1.5.0.0 (steam)
JSGME 2.6.0.157
Not running any compatibility mode (win 10 native)
using Program Files (x86) with no issue (steam library)

I had to re-install SH4 and the U-Boat addon after my computer had it,s drives blanked when it had to be repaired. When I try to run it asks for the serial No which I put in the boxes, then instead of running it says, unexpected error [13;6] and does not run. I have the original disc version, and it does not matter if I use that serial No or the addon serial No, I get the same result, Can anyone help. Michael.

I tried loading SH4 Gold on a new Dell laptop and when I try to start the game I get a big red message that 'This app has been blocked for your protection'. Running Win 10 Home on a Dell with 12 gig ram and a latest generation I7 processor. Disabled UAC - no help. Program is installed on C drive in a newly created Games folder. Thanks for any suggestions. I've gone through the SH4 on Win 10 threads and didn't find an answer.

If memory hasn't failed Me... should be a ''more info'' link in that window.. again, if I'm remembering that correctly... clicking that should open that box more so & there should be a ''run anyway'' option available...

But.. don't quote Me 100% on that, as I could be remembering that wrongly..

I managed to eliminate the danger warning by completely disabling UAC, not just setting the slider at minimum but actually shutting it off. Now I have to find out why the game won't load. I ought to be able to find some thing in this thread.

When you installed SH4, did you also install the Windows DirectX v9.0c and Windows Media Codecs that came with the SH4 install?
