Icon7 Ahoy there

Hello, fellow submariners
I've been away from the sub simulation scene for a good many years, but lately I've been feeling the itch to sail the blue (?) waters of the Pacific again.
I admit I'm hopelessly out of date with regards to the modding scene for SH4.
When I left, there were a number of realism mods, I recall three off the top of my head - TMO, RSRD, RFB. I eventually settled on TMO.
I know there's no "best", it's all matter of individual preference. But could some kind soul please bring me up to date on these mods, and any new realism mods if there are any?
Thanks much.

And I second the motion for GFO. The devs made some mistakes. But on the whole they got things righter than some of the modders, especially RSRDC. GFO fixes the groaners and lets the original game devs' vision shine through.

Thanks guys. The GFO mod looks interesting, but does it reduce the frequency of Japanese aircraft encountered? That was one of the things that irked me when I played SH4.
If not, is there a compatible mod I could grab that does this?

Also I recommend Guerrilla Spyron which you can read about by searching for Offsite on this forum and get the link to the Mod. I too, took a break from playing then installed this mod and found the old enjoyment again.. Am looking forward to the release of FotRS Ultimate!!

Webster has one for the planes also, if you want. Search the downloads area on "Webster", and you get all kinds-a good stuff. His plane thingie reduces the frequency of the planes, but as a trade-off, the ones you do encounter are more deadly...

Welcome back.

Take a visit to The Bilge. You may not like what you find.

Then again, you might be a sicko like the rest of us in The Bilge and like what you see.

@fireftr18 - what/where is The Bilge? Is it a forum within Subsim? If so I couldn't find it.

It's a thread in the General Topics forum. Although it hasn't been too active of late.

It's in General Topics.

It's a forum started for those of us who were regulars on the Ubisoft forum before Ubisoft destroyed it with too many restrictions. When we came to Subsim and became regulars here, we kind of upset the delicate balance and peace. So, I think it was Onkel Neal that started a thread for us so others can avoid us if they want. We use it to share good natured insults without hijacking other threads.
