I'm always amazed when I come across younger kids who have musical gifts in vocals or playing instruments.
This is of 10 year old Toby Lee. This video was taken in Nov 25, 2015 at the Leamington Assembly in England playing with Walter Trout. Toby should now be a veteran at or approaching the age of 12. Here is Toby with Walter Trout. I'm thinking Toby has a bright future in music. Toby takes his cues from Stevie Ray Vaughan so that should sit well with Vienna. Toby is playing a Fender Stratocastor made at least to look like Stevie's main guitar which was a 1963 body, with a 1962 neck, and pickups dated from a 1959 Stratocastor. Came in late Friday night from work and the wife was watching the Graham Norton show on tv. This artist was the guest singer and I must say I was quite impressed.

I would rather buy a Fender Standard for about $ 700 for a great, functional guitar rather than pay $ 1500-1600 for something that looks like a Stevie Ray guitar. You can also assemble quality parts and build a custom guitar for less money. Stevie Ray's brother, Jimmie Lee Vaughan is in possession of Stevie Ray's # 1 and allowed a team from the Fender Custom shop to take it apart to record it's exact dimensions. Fender than created and marketed a Stevie ray Tribute Stratocastor. http://www.zzounds.com/item--FEN0109200800 Susan Tedeshi has played with drummer Chris Layton and bass player Tommy Shannon from Stevie Ray's band in addition to Stevie ray's brother, Jimmie Lee Vaughan. Here is Susan Tedeshi in " hurt so bad " Susan Tedeshi performing a remake of " Don't think twice " Last edited by Commander Wallace; 05-14-17 at 09:31 PM. |

I've always been partial to Strats; I like the feel of them and the ease of play; I also kinda like Teles, but not as much as Strats; just a bit too 'trebly'. Never really got into Les Pauls; had one once but the 1994 Northridge Earthquake 'ate' it; they feel a bit too 'chunky' to me and I feel I get a lot more versatility out of a Strat, although the Gibson double cutaway SG and the semi-hollow 335/355s are very good instruments; its just that using a Les Paul feels more like wearing a Les Paul: bulky. I also like to sand down the gloss finish on the back of the guitar necks to a satin finish, for better touch and control...
I don't know if I'm really all that much in tune with the music scene, anymore; I may be in a flatted 3rd or 5th. My days of devouring every music publication that came my way are behind me and time has made my random access memory more random of late... ...What was I saying, and, where are my glasses?... Susan Tedeschi has been a name for almost two two decades, that I know of; there used to be a DJ on a major local blues radio program who played her recordings way back before the rest of the main music world heard of her. She is a very fine musician, singer, and songwriter; she's been around for a while, and, God willing and the creek don't rise, she'll be around for a very good while longer. Good pick... <O>

Ahh, Eichhörnchen... yeah baby... duh bluze... soothin' man...
Here's a couple versions of covers, of one song, done two different ways, by some old guys (mostly) copying old guys: I've got me a 1980 black T-60, so I'm partial to this one. I don't know where these guys are, but they're ~hot~... brought in some ringers though, them young kids might have a hope... |

Hey, I used to be in a blues band with these guys. This is them after I left to get married and move away; they got their hair cut and changed their name to 'Dakka-Dakka-Dakka' (I went into this stuff elsewhere not so long ago, so you might know already).
I took this snap in 1985 at the 'Rose & Crown' in Tonbridge. The drummer, Andy Gunton, is a DJ on Hastings Radio now (we palled-up on Facebook in December after all these years).
