i wonder how many of the 'will not's' secretly 'will'

as for me, i probably 'will not' - but 'will' - eventually, when all the s*** has dripped off the fan.

and,

i have a new machine - it does look gorgeous though!

hey ho!

But I am very opposed to the planned DRM-Scheme and that's why I won't buy it.
I completely agree with every word. I couldn't say it better.

I don't mind that it is one submarine, in fact this can be good news.

I don't mind that it ends in '43, again, handled well this too can be beneficial.

I dislike DRM but it wouldn't be a game stopper for me.

What ends it for me is that I doubt the above WILL be handled well.
If they took advantage of having to work on only one sub and a shorter campaign period to make the game more detailed, that would be excellent. But instead, I get the impression that it will not be detailed, it will be even more simplified and gamey than the last iterations. I'm a simmer, I come here to subSIM to read about sims, not action-adventure games. While SH3 and SH4 were by no means as good as I'd like, they did not cross the line I have drawn for myself.

I don't know exactly how long the development period was but I wish they'd used the one sub approach to do something like DCS or Falcon (in my dreams, I know)

Default cancelled preorder

I cancelled my preorder. I play World at war 2 using steam, no problem. UBI's site has always been a hassel to log onto. Site has been slow at times. Game looks good,I'll miss out for time being. Hopefully steam will pick it up some time in future.

Seeing as I've just laid down £750 for a new monster PC, I'm probably going to still go and buy it pretty soon after release.

My main gripe is with the DRM, I will wait and see how things pan out, and then decide whether or not it's worth buying. In the mean time, I'm not paying £27 for a product as rigorously controlled as this one.

If UBI made a promise that after a period of 6 months to a year a patch will be released to remove the DRM for single player I would buy it now!

Despite my previous experiences with new and unpatched SH titles ... I would still have bought it out of some weird loyalty mixed with curiosity. But the super-duper awesome DRM put me off, so I will be okay with waiting for that to be resolved one way or another along with the game being patched and modders polishing. Sure, if everybody did what I plan to do there would be no more Silent Hunter, but its their own fault.

will buy it once DRM when/if DRM is removed. Looks like it has potential but then has DRM plus the arcadish looking things I have seen.More of a turn off than Janeane Garafolo

I'm affaid i will not buy until DRM is removed, SH3 with GWX 3 and varoius mods still rock. SH4 just does'nt cut it.

I disagree with all this control, I'm prepared to wait and see how things turn out.....I've plenty of other games to keep me busy!

Haven't been playing SHIII for 2-3 years, and took a break during the Pacific theater episode.
Ready to get my hands on the new game, but conditional to the removal of that feature named _ _ _ ?
