Whatever. I understand that this is simulation. And that you have to bend history a bit sometimes to make it fun and unpredictable. However, when it comes to enemy TTP’s that should be left alone. There isn’t a single incident where a Japanese surface ship intentionally fired a torpedo at a US submarine.

First of all I apologize with the forum for this off-topic But I do not like certain attitudes.
@J0313 Instead of sending me messages in private inviting me to "Keep your mouth shut" better you write publicly this on the forum, your thinks. You told me that you did the war, this does not make you better or worse than the others, and above all it does not make you superior to anyone One of the principles of democracy is perfectly explained in the sentence of Evelyn Beatrice Hall "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"probably this concept is not clear to you.I'm sorry man. From Verona, Italy... Ciao bello.

Hello... again,
It's been a while since I was on here regularly but I'm getting that urge to go 'deep and quiet' again, so I dropped in to say HI and ask a question about this (if its any like the original release... ohh boy) mod Unfortunately my eyes are not as they used to and therefore I was wondering if the " 3000yrd Bearing Tool" and "Bigger Protractor" mods will work with FOTRSU? Also, I see a couple of mods have been merged in FOTRSU are there plan's to add more and if so, what mods will be added? Regards, HJ |

"Yes" HertogJan, this is like all of the old Fall of the Rising Sun mods put together (only better... ). The environment and ~all~ of the ships, plus more... There is a bearing tool already in the mod, so see if it suffices for you first. Bigger Better Protractors does function as intended, with no affects on the mod. Fingers are crossed that a v0.72 mix will be forthcoming. It will have "fixes" for the v0.71 issues that have been discovered, plus some further tweaks.

You know, I didn't want to pull out my "trump card" (no intentional regard to my "beloved" POTUS), but there were 52 submarines lost during WWII. Out of those, the "Official" reason of 16 of them is classified "Unknown". The prospect that at least one of these "unknowns" could have been lost due to enemy torpedoes is just as plausible as the loss of the Corvina...….. which was indeed lost to a Japanese submarine torpedo attack. Maybe a little reading of "historical" information will enlighten the subject? Try this "Final Patrols of the 52 Lost Submarines".

Ahoy guys haven't posted in awhile but really enjoying the game In a Porpoise class sub sure beats the heck out of the slow moving s boat. I had to make a few changes to the game I am nowhere near the experts you guys are. I used Ducimus's edit for putting the tails back on the nav map helped me alot! also changed the crash dive key to c I have clumsy fingers it took me too much time to hit 2 keys I don't go to periscope depth when a plane is spotted I crash dive and go to battle stations and get the frack down. You guys have done a great job on this mod . I doubt anyone else would ask this but would you mind telling me how to edit out the map plotter only on the nav map what happens is with my approach circle drawn the map gets clutter up when I zoom in. The planes are a lot less of a problem now not sure if there are less of them or I am just better at avoiding them I can spend a fair amount of time cruising on the surface. My own opinion on the torpedoes from war ships is I love the chaos they create in the game (in the forum not so much).

Hey Propbeanie sorry my technical vocabulary is not up to speed with you guys. Basically on the Nav map not the attack map when I zoom in a type of bearing plotter pops for lack of a better word rose compass. I basically plot a ships course, plot an intercept course, draw a circle with my compass 1000 yd as he approaches it when I zoom in I get the plotter over my circle. On the attack map it doesn't matter none of the markings on the nav map transfer over to it. Hope this clears it up a bit. Appreciate the fast response. Like I said in the other post I'm nowhere near the level you guys are. Probably about 70% accurate with my torpedoes + or -.

@JO313 I think that's it time to take some steps back and consider what you're saying here. Telling other people in the open forums or in PM to "keep their mouths shut" is not allowed anywhere on these forums. Please, let's keep it civil.

which begs the question, either / or both? The 3000 bearing tool, or the nomograph on the right? |
